sound percussion labs

Complete Sound Percussion Labs (SPL) kits ship as out-of-the-box packages that include cymbals, stands, a bass drum pedal (the full-size Kicker model uses a chain-drive pedal), a throne, a tuning key, and a pair of drumsticks.

The scaled 5-piece junior kits list the following component sizes: 16×10" bass drum, 10×5" snare, 8×6" and 10×6" rack toms, and a 12×10" floor tom.

Product listings most commonly specify poplar shell construction for SPL drums. Some full-size kit descriptions refer more generally to “hardwood” shells rather than naming a specific wood species.

SPL snares are offered in 4", 6" and 8" depths. The 4" depth provides tight, crisp articulation; the 6" offers added snap and presence; and the 8" produces a warmer, fuller response.

SPL kits ship with fully tunable drumheads so you can adjust pitch and tone across the set. SPL snares are shipped with a coated batter head already installed.

The full-size 5-piece kits list these components: 20×14" bass drum, 13×5" matching wood snare, 10×7" and 12×8" rack toms, and a 14×11" floor tom.

Documented finishes for SPL snares include Scarlet Fade, Silver Tone Fade, and Turquoise Blue Fade. Kits and complete sets are also mentioned in Metallic Blue, Black, and Dark Red finishes.
