IYKYK The best milk of all time
I’ve been purchasing Silk unsweetened soy milk for years and grew up on the classic red one. Only feel the need to leave a review because I never want to see this discontinued. I love the consistency (almond and coconut are thin) and how it doesn’t mess with my stomach (like oat and dairy). I use it in my coffee/matcha, oatmeal/cereal, smoothies/shakes and more. Just as satisfying with cookies as dairy milk. I love the short ingredient list and nutritional value/vitamins. You can’t beat the price for the quality. Lastly, I love that it doesn’t spoil as quickly as dairy milk, so I never waste. My one qualm is that the cap often leaks since soy milk requires a good shaking before pouring for ideal consistency. But if the only way to fix that issue is using more plastic then I don’t think it’s worth changing.

The new taste is bad
We've bought this milk for over 6 years because we're vegan and raising little kids that need protein. Nobody likes the new formula, we had to dump it. We've tried your "kids" protein brand and don't like it either because of the sugary taste. Will you ever bring back the old formula? We want a good tasting organic soy milk with no sugar.
1 reply from Silk team - 11 days ago
We hear you—and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts. We recently updated our soymilk to lower total sugar, add more nutritional benefits, and make sure every variety offers the same 8g of complete plant protein you’ve always found in Silk Original Soymilk. Our goal is to bring even more nutrition to every glass, and we’ll be sure to pass your feedback along to the team.

$2 increase in 1 year!
As a millenial, I saw my parents never have to pay more than $1.50 for a gallon of milk my whole childhood. This is why I'm shocked to see Silk has increased their 1/2 gallons AGAIN. $2 in 1 YEAR from $2.99 to $4.99 is a 66.89% increase!!! Now I have to shell out an extra $24 dollars/month just for milk. Don't ask me about gas (2.99 - 4.99 as well!) It's beginning to feel like a pattern...every giant corporation has gotten super greedy and assumed everyone got a 66.89% wage increase like them.

Useful Food But Wrong Vitamin D Additive
I like having an organic dairy-free milk with a good amount of protein and no added sugars. Thank you for providing this product. Please consider changing your vitamin D additive in the Organic Silk Unsweetened Soy Milk from D2 to D3 based on this report that shows D3 is needed for human health but D2 actually reduces D3 levels. https://scitechdaily.com/popular-vitamin-d-supplement-has-previously-unknown-negative-effect-study-finds/ Thank you.

$1 price raise over the last month...I see you Target
I love this organic unsweetened soy milk. However, Target has queitly raised the price in the last month from 3.99 to 4.99 which is higher than other retailers. Now I don't have to make a special trip to Target for this item.

The new formula tastes TERRIBLE.
Our entire family drank this milk for 10+ years. When Silk decided to change the formula, our family was so disappointed. My ten year old thinks it now tastes like “dirt and chemicals.” It’s thin and tastes weird. We’ve had to look for a different milk. We’ve gone through six alternatives and they aren’t as good as the original. The company said it now has more protein, but that doesn’t matter if it’s too gross to drink. The best tasting milk we’ve found has been Trader Joe’s almond milk. So now my kids are getting 1g of protein per serving instead of 5. Why ruin the best milk on the market?!?

Good, but buy it from a real grocery store.
I like this milk, but not to the point of being ripped off! The price went from $3.99 on April 4th, to $4.29 on April 12th, to $4.99 today, April 20th. There's no shame in being greedy in this economy. Wow!

Significant Decline!!!! Buyer beware!!
What happened??? We use this religiously for coffee every morning. Every cup tasted rancid. We sanitized our coffee machine, wasted multiple pots of coffee thinking it went bad only to realize it is this soy milk!! The smell from the carton was undeniable. To add insult to injury, the price was raised to five dollars!! We will be looking for an alternative. So disappointing!!!

Don't go changing the Organic Unsweet Soymilk!
It's hard to find products that have no sugar. I love this product, especially in my coffee. Please don't change it! It's been fine just the way it was, and is often the first milk to be sold out at most of the store I shop at.

The prior formula was perfect for frothed milk for coffee. The new formula does not froth. Disappointing.

Increased sodium!
I am on a low sodium diet and just now realized that the sodium level increased. I only use it for overnight oats so I didn’t really notice a change in taste. Why are companies increasing sodium instead of lowering it? That being said, I now have to find a different brand.

Terrible change
My family has been drinking Silk unsweetened soymilk for many years, about 300 cartons per year. It was our very favourite of all the soymilks out there. We all loved it, until recently. The change in flavour is terrible. It makes us feel sick to our stomachs. I will have to start looking for an alternative unless the old formula is brought back. Please let us know if the old formula is brought back.
1 reply from Silk team - 1 month ago
Hi! We've made some updates to our soymilk products and packaging. As a company rooted in bringing health through food to as many people as possible, we tweaked our soymilk formulation to reduce total sugar, incorporate additional nutritional benefits, and make our 8g of complete plant protein - already a staple in our Silk Original Soymilk - consistent across all of the soymilk portfolio. We'll be sure to share your feedback regarding these changes to the team.

Flavor Changed for the Worse
So disappointed that there appears to have been a change in the formula for Silk Organic Unsweet Soymilk. The taste is drastically different in the new carton I purchased this week and opened yesterday and clearly many other consumers are noticing the same change. I've tried the milk from the most recent carton with two completely different cereals, which are my most reliable safe foods, but the new taste of the milk was overwhelming (and awful) both times. I'm pretty upset about this beyond the loss of some of my safe foods because I am allergic to dairy and Silk's organic soy milk had previously been the healthiest, most versatile, best tasting, and most affordable substitute for dairy milk I've found over the past decade of searching. This is also the second time that I have experienced a change in formula for a Silk soy product (the Silk soy creamer became so watered down that I now have to use probably a quarter cup in my black tea to have the effect that a couple teaspoons used to have), It is incredibly frustrating that Silk continues to make their products worse and with no warning to the consumer that they have changed the formula. To second another recent reviewer, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"! Silk, please update the packaging if you change the product back to the previous formula so that we can know if/when it's worth it to buy this product again.
