  • Description

So, you're a barista? Perfect. This carton of Barista Edition Oatmilk is made from liquid oats which means it isn't overly sweet or excessively heavy. What it is, is fully foamable putting you in total control over the density and performance of your foam so you can showcase your latte art skillz, sorry we mean skills. Anyway, give it a try and see what you think.

So, you're not a barista? Also, perfect. Just heat this Barista Edition Oatmilk in a container while giving it a whirl until it foams up nicely and then pour yourself a latte without cow's milk. And if you don't feel like a latte you might be happy to know that this dairy free milk tastes just as amazing if you skip all the foaming and pour it right into your coffee, drink it straight out of the container, pour it on your granola, or put it to work with your cooking skills. But let's keep that between us non-baristas, okay?

Q: What is the shelf life?

submitted by Shelley - 7 years ago
    • A: There is no shelf life since this needs to be refrigerated. The expiration date is printed on the package.

submitted byLivT - 7 years ago
    • A: From Oatly's website FAQs The 64 oz and 32 oz chilled cartons sold in grocery stores should always be refrigerated and consumed by the best by date. Once you open a carton, please refrigerate it and drink it within a week as noted on the carton.

      submitted bylola30 - 6 years ago
    • A: It does NOT need to be refrigerated prior to opening as it is in Tetra pak. Once opened should be consumed within 7 days. Barista tends to have shelf life of 6-8 months depending on how long it has been on the shelf before selling. These may be in the cooler section but they do not need to be kept there once you leave the store until it's opened. I know because I used to buy these in Sweden before it became in production in the USA. Only the regular, low fat and whole that comes in 2Q needs to be refrigerated as shelf life generally is about 4-6 weeks.

Q: What is the difference between the original and "Barista Edition"?

submitted by duomon - 7 years ago
    • A: This is a thicker consistency than the original. Like a creamer for coffee. Can do latte art hence barista edition. It's higher calorie as well. I much prefer this over original for coffee. Original is a good milk replacement ie, milk for cereal, smoothies. I have purchased barista in Sweden (where it's originally from in abundance) I've had most of their products.

submitted byMC - 7 years ago
    • A: From Oatly's Website FAQs -What’s the difference between the Barista Edition Oatmilk and Original Oatmilk? While our Barista Edition and Original oatmilks have the same ingredient list, we’ve formulated our Barista Edition to work particularly well in hot beverages and steam beautifully for a latte or cappuccino. The Barista Edition has a higher fat content—3% to be exact—making it extra creamy. It’s perfect in espresso and coffee, great for baking and cooking, and can even be enjoyed straight from the carton. Our Original oatmilk has a fat content of 2% and is delicious on cereal, in smoothies, or served straight up.

Q: Does it have added sugar? I don’t see it in the ingredient list, but it has 7 g of sugar.

submitted by andy - 11 months ago
    • A: The processing of oats in making oat milk breaks down the carbohydrates into sugars, so technically there is "added" sugar during processing. They do not add an external source of sugar to the product

submitted byGrazelda - 10 months ago

Q: Can it whip? Could it be used to make cold foam?

submitted by HMK - 1 year ago
    • A: The Oatly Barista Edition Oatmilk can be used to make cold foam.

Q: Is the Barista version comparable to full fat Oatly?

submitted by - 2 years ago
    • A: Oatly’s Barista Edition Oatmilk and Full Fat Oatmilk are both creamy oatmilks that can be used for drinks and cooking recipes where whole dairy milk might traditionally be used. Key differences are that Oatly’s Full Fat Oatmilk contains added DHA while the Barista Edition Oatmilk is optimized for foaming & frothing for espresso.

      Good taste but horrible ingredients

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only bought because it was free but horrible ingredients and wrecks havoc on your blood sugar. Tastes good but would never buy again even if free

      Great addition to my fridge!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the taste of the oat milk. The milk was rich and more creamy than their regular oat milk, so I was able to add it to my matcha lattes and have a really good experience.

      Decent Dairy Alternative

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the flavor profile of this product. I didn’t like the price point or the caloric amount, because I’m used to drinking vanilla almond milk for 30 calories instead. This was a nice alternative if it happens to be in stock.

      Love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my favorite type of milk to add to my coffee. I can’t tolerate regular milk, so this is the perfect alternative. The taste is subtle and the best part is that it doesn’t irritate my stomach.

      Very nice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the flavor of the Oatly Barista milk and how it works well with different preparations. I used it as a creamer with coffee and also added a dash of it to cereal and both ways it tasted good. I had expected to be a bit more creamy though.

      Great taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this as a replacement for my morning coffee’s creamer and was pleasantly surprised by the nice vanilla taste. I like milk alternatives if they taste good and this one does. It’s not thick but not too thin and decently frothed in my drink.
