So dissapponting
This was a very very disappointing item to get usually Lego is very good with their products but it’s been a awful experience. It will stop running on its own it will slow down from one day to the next. A flashing light indicates that the train is either slipping off its tracks , the batteries are dying , or it needs a software update. We have checked the app for the software update but there is no new update , it’s not slipping off the tracks and the batteries are brand new we have changed them twice. Pretty frustrating experience and we def will not be purchasing anymore LEGO trains anytime soon. Maybe we just got a bad one but it doesn’t make the experience any better buyer beware as this was not cheap. Ugh

My son gives this 4 stars, because he had to look up how the remote works. He's 5 years old. I'd give it 5.

Beautiful Bullet Train
With one look side by side with the Japanese bullet train and this set, you see straight away that this set is designed on this bullet train from the colours to the shape, AMAZING. My favourite part, has to be the lights. When i was younger, my parents bought me the Lego Passenger train, #60197, which is now sadly retired, but yeh, my parents got me a "light pack" to go in the front of the cab, but they didn't fit because it was for the 8878 LEGO® Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box, which is ALSO retired, and because of that and the fact the train was using the new battery box, the lights didn't fit, but this train COMES with lights! I really love this set, and pair it with the Lego city #60469 Central Train Station, and it works PERFECTLY. It also looks amazing next to my MOC Mallard, and my MOC Class 37. I love it.

Th instructions weren’t clear on how to power the train. Online it says recharge with usb-c but there was no port. Used chat gpt to figure out some of these use triple an and some use rechargeable battery pack. It depends on where you buy it. If it said triple a in the instructions I missed it

amazing!
I bought the train for myself to complete the lego city diorama I've been constructing for some time. The train is very easy to put together, the hub, the remote controller as well as the app connect without any issues, I enjoy the app immensely as it allows to change the weather conditions, features different sounds etc. If I were to find anything negative about the set, it would be the minuscule platform, I will introduce my own improvements and turn it into a proper one though:-) Totally recommended! I have allowed my children to play with the train, naturally!

Buy online $152 vs $190 in store
Really neat train. My 8 year old wanted this for his birthday and my 11 year old son loves it too. Just make sure you BUY ONLINE for delivery or pick-up for $152 because family bought it in store where it was $190. Big difference!!

Poor battery life, problematic pairing
This train burns through batteries very, very fast. The remote and train frequently won't sync. The flashing lights on the remote and train don't offer any helpful information regarding pairing. You will spend lots, lots, lots of time frustrated changing batteries and fighting with the pairing. I wish I hadn't bought this.

Excellent train for train enthusiasts
I was a bit skeptical about the newer trains, but because this one does not have one-piece nose cone/etc, I tried and this is really more like the 90s trains. Basic interior pieces like the original chairs. The door glass is fine. Just lots of common bricks. Bought a second one for the complete look.

Who doesnt love a train!?
My son saved his money to purchase this train set. He LOVES reconfiguring the tracks and making obstacles to steer around. The remote control is easy and has kept them entertained for hours.

Best Recent Passenger Train but improve electrics
This train set is the best passenger train in recent years, mainly because it uses bricks to build the train and avoids a single-piece front end. The bricks are more versatile for reuse in different models. So good that I bought 4 of this set. The set is ripe for adding another as the other end of the train, making 6 cars, but that is more difficult to operate because the second motor would be the other way round so it would need to run in reverse at the same time. Using the other port on the second hub, one could press both buttons on the handset together, having rotated the dial 180 degrees (great feature), but what we really want is the ability to run two motors from one port or to run two motors in opposite directions from one command with the handset, without using a phone. That was easier with the previous Power Functions system. Please make the electrics more versatile, perhaps add a 2-port lead with reverse option switch for one of the ports, so we can drive "simple" motors like that. The lead could look like a train motor as its ID (pins 3-6) and just reverse the motor connections on pins 1&2. Without that versatility, people turn to 3rd-party products and you lose market share. The same goes for needing a LiPo battery for the hub. Power Functions had the 8878 LiPo battery but Powered-Up is back to unsustainable cells. So a great train set but an electric system that needs improving.

Love it but needs a tweak
I live my set. I've been wanting to get it for years. Building it was great...but the little magnets are not strong enough to pull the carts. The front de-couples on 2. It also shows down alot on the bends. I also have to take a battery out for the lights to go off...not sure if that's how it should be or if fault somewhere. Overall....I still love it and looking forward to building a little town arrou d my track. When or if I can afford to.

Fun train
Bought this set of Lego for a 10 years old boy, he loved it! From received, built, set-up, testing and completed...he enjoyed every moment. The train run pretty fast, he also thought about extending the track to let train goes faster. This is his first Powered Up set, super excited.

Amazing detail
This set was perfect for my 3 year old. She loved helping me build it every step of the way. I was surprosed at how much detail there was and howsimple it was to put together. She loves playing with it especially because I work on the train. Well done lego on bringing this home.
