Quality is disappointing
I love mandarin oranged, but stopped buying these because the quality is typically pretty terrible. If you go to the store, most of the time you can tell that they're still thawing from being frozen and fairly old. Because there's no moisture control, likely due to the fast room-temperature thaw, the fruit starts to decompose nearly as fast. Many times there is visible mold and more than half the bag is already rotten before you've even gotten it home. The ones that you think you've salvaged are typically still not good quality and either have subpar flavor or texture, or both. With the cost of living continually increasing, I can't justify the high cost with hope that I'll find just a couple that are barely worth eating, only to end up throwing most or all of the bag away.
