Pricey and dry
Bought this pastry dough to make a sausage roll. Rolled out dough filled with cooked ground sweet sausage. Rolled up dough . Cooked according to directions. Roll was very dry and tough. Pastry dough was a little pricey. Not sure that I will buy again.

I bought this excited for some danishes. While it may be tasty, it is neither puff, nor pastry 😂. While baking, I witnessed as the puff pastry leaked every bit of oil from it's structure. Which in turn made it super crispy, which tastes great, but not what it was supposed to be.

Sweet Lorens Is The Best!!!
I think the people whining about this product clearly do not understand that gluten free foods often cook and bake differently. Or maybe they are fake reviews. That said, I am so thankful for Sweet Lorens pastry, we use it to make cream pies, danish, chicken pot pies...it's amazing what we have made and how good it turns out. I hope Target doesnt pull this product - they have such limited gluten free products already.

Extremely disappointed. This puff pastry has an overwhelming chemical smell — like burnt plastic. Completely unusable. What’s especially frustrating is the labeling: “Gluten Free” is not clearly marked next to “Puff Pastry,” which is misleading for shoppers who assume standard puff pastry ingredients and quality. The odor alone made it impossible to use for baking. I had to throw it away immediately. This product needs better quality control and much clearer labeling.

Not Worth Price
Bought puff pastry and used on a Southern Living recipe. Size was smaller than recipe called for and not generously cut. Also your tips did not say that you cannot use rolling pin if you need it bigger. Also cost was outrageous for 1 very small square of puff pastry. Will not purchase again.

If you’re looking for a GF ready to roll it and go puff pastry dough, and you’ve heard all the glows about this brand (and were excited to find it in stock near you) so you can’t imagine you’ll be disappointed by it, let’s just say that I was (texture and taste) and if you’re smart you will have a plan b appetizer to serve your guests (to replace the mess this turns out). And do NOT even get me started on the cost of it over the non gf options for sale right next to it…double ouch. The two stars is for the manufactures effort to provide a gf option.

I was excited to try this puff pastry, as I love sweet Lorens cookie dough. I made cherry hand pies. I was so surprised to see oil coming from the pastry while it was baking. I mean the oil was bubbling out so much that the pies were practically frying on the bottom. I had to tilt the baking sheet up when I removed it from the oven so the oil would run away from the pies. The taste of the pastry isn't very good in my opinion. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. The pastry sticks horribly to the parchment paper. Be prepared to struggle to remove it from the parchment. Overall I wouldn't buy this product again.

Becoming gluten- and lactose-intolerant, however, was a real challenge—for me and for my family, who are very used to good food and proper family dinners. Finding quality alternatives that didn’t feel like a compromise was frustrating, especially when it came to crusts. Baking gluten-free, lactose-free crusts from scratch is time-consuming and honestly not realistic on busy weekdays. Discovering the puff pastry and pie crust during the holidays at Whole Foods was a lifesaver. Finally—no more complicated homemade gluten-free, lactose-free crusts! not clearly labelled vegan / gluten free puff pastry
I thought this smelt weird and chemically which was of putting enough but put it down to the paper used. The results were not light fluffy buttery tasting puff pastry but dry flat crust. I did use it for sausage rolls (so not vegan) so perhaps not ideal for that. For the price and the results I got I won't be using it again. maybe it's great for other uses... my low star review is that this need better labelling. those white circles are easy to miss, should be near the title. Had I noticed I'd never have bought it. why is it so hard to find traditional puff pastry in NYC. why is this version easier to find??

Sadly, they use palm oil :/
I was happy to find a vegan, gluten-free phyllo... but then disappointed that they use palm oil. Vegan manufacturers need to pay attention to habitat destruction and use alternatives to horrible palm oil. Please do better.

I've been gluten intolerant for years and puff pastry was one of the few items that seemed impossible to find gluten free. Sweet Lorens, what a gem! It passed the taste test with our extended families for the holidays: no one knew it was gluten free ;) Its so freeing to finally, fully enjoy family recipes I haven't touched in years. Only two asks: I wish the size was just a tiny bit bigger (I still find it easy to work with though) and also wish it didn't sell out so quickly, it can be hard to find in stock consistently!
