    Huge Downgrade: Lux Price for Drugstore Quality

    This new 3-in-1 version is a completely different (and worse) product. As a long-time, loyal user of the original RetrinAL eye formula, I am incredibly disappointed in this reformulation. Avène is coasting on the high ratings of the old product, but make no mistake this is not the same cream. The Formula: The original had a rich, thick consistency with that signature creamy yellow hue that felt smooth and luxurious. It stayed where you put it. This new "3-in-1" version is runny, thin, and feels like a low-tier drugstore lotion. The Packaging: The downgrade in packaging is the most obvious sign of cost-cutting. It went from a sturdy, slim, high-end pump to flimsy, cheap plastic. For the price Avène charges, I expect a high quality experience, not a bottle with a cheap sticker that feels like it’s going to crack in my travel bag. I actually dodged a bullet when my order for the .05 face cream was canceled, because if it’s anything like this eye cream, the brand has completely lost its way. New users might not know what they’re missing, but if you’ve used the original RetrinalAL formulations for years, you will immediately notice the lack of quality. I’ll be returning this and beginning the hunt for a new brand. Avène, please stop transferring old 5-star reviews to this new formulation; it’s misleading to your customers by using washed out reviews.

    New formula is thinner, lost its luxury feeling

    First time using the new formula, and I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the eye cream is now thinner in consistency than the retrinal face cream. It’s no longer something I can count on to stay in place around my eyes while I sleep, so once I go through this one I’m probably going to just stick to the face cream. I’ve been overall disappointed in the new formulations.

    Amazing Eye Serum that actually works

    I started using this product about 1 month ago and I can definitely see a big difference with the fine lines diminishing. My skin feel smoother and tighter. I would highly recommend this product.

    I like the ease of use with a pump bottle. Wish there was an estimate of how many applications per bottle. It’s a little pricey but worth the expense.

    Probably not good for me

    I may have to return this cream. I don't think I can use it with the caveat to use sunblock while using the Retinal cream. I live in NM where the sun is strong and anything adding to that would be unhelpful.

    Best eye cream

    I usually never write reviews but this product is so maxing I just had to after just 4 days of use the darkness under my eyes and my eye lids got significantly lighter and I’ve tried so many different products and nothing gave me the results like this product it also improved the fine lines under my eyes I absolutely LOVE this product!

    Changed formula not impressed

    I used to use this product and the Retinal .10 cream at night religiously and really liked the results and how my skin felt but Avene has changed the formulation. Much thinner and doesn't seem as effective. I will not purchase again.

    Improved eyes

    I was very impressed with how it brighten my eyes from the dark circles I had. It didn't completely go away but honestly made a tremendous difference. I will continue to use this product. Absolutely love it!

    Feels Like they Changed the Formulation

    With my recent order, I noticed the packaging had changed, but the website claims it is the same product in new packaging. I find this bottle more thin and liquidy than the cream I’ve been using for years. It does not feel as creamy and moisturizing as all of my previous bottles. I fear they have changed the formulation and it does not feel as good on my skin. Time will tell if it is as effective.

    Fantastic Eye Cream

    Avene Retrinal Eye Cream is a silky smooth and works well both at night and during the day under makeup. I never have any creases or rings. I have been using all of the Retrinal products for a few years and my eyes are bright and almost lineless and my facial skin is very soft and smooth. Would definitely recommend.

    Good product

    I really like this product and use it every day. The only reason I gave it 4 starts is because the consistency is so thin. It’s not as creamy as I prefer for an under eye product.

    Formula changed

    I don't like this new formula. It's not described as a gel but it definitely feels like gel. I like the richer formula much better. If you're into gel products, I'm sure it will be fine but if you want a nice rich cream, find something else.

    Product changed

    I've used Avene's retinol/retinol products for over a year with success. They've changed the formula and now my skin is more or less constantly red and flaking despite trying to adapt to the new product by applying it only a few times a week. It's been several weeks and the product still irritates my skin. Disappointing.

    Runny formula and flimsy cap!

    Please bring back the old formula and the old bottle! The new formula is runny and doesn’t dry fast enough it also seems to lack a moisturizer. The new cap on the bottle is flimsy and will fall off easily if you keep it in a toiletry bag and also pumps out way too much product. So disappointed because I used th red old product for years… this one was so disappointing I honestly just tossed it after a few uses.

    The new formula just isn't the same.

    I like the old formula so much better. This one is watery, takes forever to dry down, and doesn't seem to be as effective. Please bring back the old formula! I'd buy it for life!
