Great figure... if you're lucky with the QC
At its core, this is a good figure. A great mold with excellent colors and really fun accessories. I kinda miss the blast effects for the exhaust pipes on the original release, but the fishing rod alone is worth the trade-off. HOWEVER, this figure can have some very notable QC issues. My first copy had a tab in the right exhaust pipe break off during just regular transformation after one go around. I had to return and replace it. Then the second copy had very shoddily applied paint, with lots of silver smeared all over the back left tire and gray paint spreading to the helmet and eyes from the face. Thankfully I was able to find a third copy that was in perfect condition, but the fact that I had to track down three of these to get a good one when so many people are struggling to find one is not a great sign. Just be careful with yours and if you can find two maybe pick up both and see which one is of better quality.

The Best Hot Rod figure
Some of the things I like about the figure is the articulation (even with the awkward shoulders), this guy is able to pose in some dynamic poses, even the sitting down for fishing pose. The transformation was a bit tricky for me as the tab in the right side didn’t exactly want to tab in, but it’s better than forcing it, everyone’s figure is different. the one thing I’m very cautious of is the clear plastic window, I’d have to be careful with the window to not crack it. The design remains faithful to the source material & the paint is a major step up from the Original figure. I’m very glad to have this guy in my collection as he’ll be paired with my other Autobots & Decepticons for some nice pictures.

Good looking figure with bad QC
My figure came in mostly solid, though I use the term mostly for a reason. My copy was brought down with some quality control that wasn’t good. One of his arms can’t hold itself up compared to the other arm and some of his mushroom pegs were warped so his exhaust pipes would come off more easily. I do like that he is more screen accurate in color and technically comes with more accessories compared to the original, however the QC issues on my copy definitely bring my rating down for this figure unfortunately.
