I would think the metal of a filing folder would rough up and most likely rip the fabric rather quickly. I use mine for my IKEA Kallax system for clothes, collectibles and general storage items privacy.

They just aren't sturdy enough they should not have a cardboard interior structure it should at least be a hard plastic. They bend and break very easily.

We loved these storage bins for our cube shelf! They are super durable and high quality. A lot of the smaller bins are flimsy and bend easy but these have held up to my toddlers play room thankfully! They fit perfectly in a larger sized cube storage shelf and the gray color matched most everything in the playroom which was chef’s kiss. I highly recommend these if you are looking for bigger and more durable bins!
