This is a perfectly fine clock but nothing fancy. It is very quiet. The wood looking case is plastic but I have mine high up on the wall so not really noticeable.

The clock rim is made of a thin plastic made to look like wood and the clock mechanism is unreliable (mine stopped working for a day, so I thought my battery was dead, but then it started moving again randomly).
