Mediocre.
They look great. However, everything stains it. Initially I thought they were great, because I could toss them in the sink and wash them off after a meal, and they dried quickly. However, basic things permanently stain. I don't have children at my dinner table, so these are just basic food items that might routinely splatter onto a placemat during a meal. If you're going to use these just for the aesthetic and not for an actual placemat at mealtime, they look great. Not a good choice for actual food use.

Works, but. . .
These were really pretty, the problem is anything and everything seeps through the weave. Ended up ruining my table when our daughter left a sweating glass of juice with ice in it, and the water sat on the wood.
