A: As memory serves, the type of wood is not specified. I can hazard a guess that it is not pine or spruce, based on some properties the wood has. If I were to venture a guess, I would suggest it is from the aspen family.

Not fully assembled
There's a wodden base that attaches to the table and where I'm supposed to connect the legs to. However, the based was not securly attached to the table. So when i flipped the table upright, the screws that secured the base to the table fell off. I need to purchase my own tools to help secure the base.

not unhappy with purchase but wouldn't buy again
I bought the black version. i agree with another review that assembly was not simple due to poorly drilled holes. the leaf could use more support. out at the edge, it's a bit bouncy. i wouldn't trust anyone to sit there to eat because if there's too much weight on the leaf, it may fall. it's okay for me to have up when working, as i just have papers and such on it. MY BIGGEST ISSUE - - i'm not a tablecloth person, but i will have to put something on this tabletop. i've used it less than a week, and it already has a nick and a scratch. and little streaks of nothing need to be wiped frequently. BOTTOM LINE - i paid $170 and noticed the following week it was $141 so i got a price adjustment. had i not, i'd probably be dissatisfied. i am satisfied with it, and it definitely looks nice, but $125 feels like a more appropriate price (imo).

I love this table. It is small and compact, and well made with real wood. It looks great in my studio apartment. The only problem was the assembly. The pre-drilled holes were not in the correct places. If I had screwed things into the pre-drilled holes, the table would not have worked. I was able to get FaceTime assistance from my father, an experienced woodworker, about how to re-drill the holes. I needed to use my electric drill to do this. I love the table, but assembly was more difficult than I was expecting.

Well designed table
Nice table for small kitchens. Putting it together was a feat, with the hinges the hardest part as the holes are not predrilled well, but the end result is worth it. Very sturdy and nice size with the drop leaf extended ( it has two wooden support bars to keep the drop leaf sturdy. Well designed, sturdy and attractive table. I would recommend it.

Very nice table for my small kitchen.
I am a 58 years old woman, and I assembled this table by myself! This is the first furniture item I ever assembled, and the instructions were only pictures, but it was fairly easy. I love the size and the design. The table came in almost perfect condition. On my close inspection I only found 2 tiny scratches on one of the legs, nothing major. All the screws were included, plus one extra of each, and one tool to attach the legs. You need to have your own Phillips head screwdriver.

The fact that it only has one leaf and I didn’t realize that is totally my fault so I won’t knock it for that (though I was disappointed when I came to realize that, there should be more pictures to make that more clear in my opinion) but I will knock it for the fact that it came dirty and covered in scratches. Also one leg is too short so it’s not stable. Fairly easy to put together considering I didn’t attach the leaf, only one does not work for my space at all. It’s fine I guess, I’m not going to go through the hassle of returning it mostly because the packaging was so messed up when it got to me I don’t have a box to put it in to return it. It’ll get the job done for now but I do not recommend.

Beautiful Functional Table!
This table is surprisingly beautiful and is exceptionally well made. With the drop-leaf, there is so much versatility to create more table width when necessary. I was incredibly lucky wth coordinating this table with two white chairs - the legs of the chairs match exactly with the legs of the table. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.

Not very sturdy.
Unfortunately, this table is going back to Target (they have an awesome return policy).. After I put it together, I found it to be extremely flimsy. If you sat at the part with the leaf, and put your arms down on the table, the whole table flipped up. So forget anyone sitting at the leaf part, unless you want everything on the table to come sliding off. The table wobbled bad. It's a pretty table, just not very sturdy. I was very disappointed.
