Plus, stay in the know with hyperlocal weather forecasts for your precise location. Patented self-calibrating technology combines the display’s barometer data with the outdoor sensor’s measurements to provide a personalized weather forecast 12 hours from your current conditions. This personal weather station also detects lightning strikes up to 25 miles away and offers on-screen alerts along with running strike totals for the day, week, and month. This home weather station also indicates a heat index or freeze alert, giving early warning for outdoor activities and to gardeners so they can cover plants! The indoor display is AC powered and uses three (3) AAA batteries (not included) for optional backup in case of a power outage. The outdoor sensor has an integrated keyhole hanger for easy outdoor mounting within 330 feet (100 meters) of the display and requires four (4) AA batteries (not included). Lightning detector on base sounds off 1 time or 40 times,then mutes, will not unmute no matter how many times I go through the steps to unmute. Toy at best! Otherwise, like product overall

I bought this model because I wanted the lightning detection. It's winter and we have not had a thunderstorm yet. I'm curious to see how well the lightning detection will work. Everything seems to be working great so far. I'm happy with my purchase.

The best
I bought this for a technology challenged 84 yr old friend, She Loves it and is able to manage all of the settings. She calls me every morning to check if my temperature is the same as hers. We live a 1/2 mile apart.

Hard to synchronize
I am having a hard time finding a place to put the sensor. I have moved it several times and it still says interference present, relocate. ???? The temperature seems pretty accurate and we haven't had any lightning so I'm not sure if the interference will have any impact. 🤷🏼♀️

Not performing as advertised or expected.
1. Lightening sensor not working, even when yards from any elecric or electronic device. 2. Temperature reading does not seem accurate. 3. Dimming does not seem to be working.

Please go through the steps below to correct the issues you have experienced. If this does not correct the problem, please reach out to the AcuRite Support Team via email or live chat.
Verify you are using new, brand name batteries in your station. Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.
Hard Reset
-Bring outdoor sensor inside
-Remove batteries from both units
-Change the ABC switch
-Place batteries in the sensor first
-Place batteries in the display, let the two units sit side by side until you read outdoor information
-Wait unit the units connect before placing them outside
