The AcuRite Iris (5-in-1) Weather Station is a personal weather station that lets you plan the day with confidence. It delivers pinpoint accuracy for indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, and atmospheric pressure right from your own backyard. With its built-in indoor/outdoor thermometer, the AcuRite Iris (5-in-1) Weather Station uses patented self-calibrating technology to provide a hyperlocal personal weather forecast 12 hours from your current weather conditions. The self-calibrating forecast is generated from the weather data in your backyard combined with the barometric pressure data measured in the display to give you the most accurate forecast available for your exact location — more accurate than a storm glass!
The illuminated color display acts as a weather barometer and weather clock, and it also features three different brightness settings, ensuring you can easily read the information you want at a glance. The indoor weather station display lets you select your brightness preference manually or choose the auto-dim mode. In auto-dim mode, the display automatically adjusts its brightness based on time of day and year — a feature that only the best weather station can boast. The high-precision weather sensor mimics anemometers and wind vanes to accurately measure wind speed and direction. Plus, the outdoor weather station measures three other outdoor conditions (temperature, humidity, and rainfall), and it has a solar powered solar cell that powers an internal aspirating fan that bulls in ambient air to limit overheating and provide more accurate temperature measurement. Great Quality Unit
This is the second Acurite weather station that we have purchased. The installation again was simple and required minimal tools. Our other station lasted over 20 years in some pretty nasty weather. I am so happy to have the new station up and running great!!

Display screen is horrible!
Unit seems to work well, no connection or set up issues but the display is horrible! Unless you’re looking directly at it, not slightly to the side or slightly above or below it, exactly at eye level, you can’t read it. Probably going to see it back.

This is my 4th or fifth that I have bought a couple of gifts. On March 14 a category F3 hit where I live tree's on houses and next door the house blew over and 75 feet away was my AcuRite and it was on the chain link fence post all the fencing and gates and a huge tree fell over next to it and the only thing at that moment that was gone was the spinner! I happened to have an extra one and put it on there and it worked but it slowly has gotten same funny noises and isn't accurate. The digital in the house read before the spinner blew off 95 mph!!! I thought they were guaranteed for 100 miles an hour! lol I thought that was crazy!😁 so I'm not living in my house yet but it is still spinning! I didn't replace it yet because it helps me with my little bit of PTSD. By the way a forensic tornado expert said we were 150 from the center at 153 mph!
