Antennas Direct® ClearStream® Universal Mast, 40-In. with Mounting Hardware

I needed to mount it on the side and couldn’t get it to point straight up.. I had to place 1/2 inch spacers under the bottom two bolt holes.. The build is what I expected but the slide adjust wasn’t far enough for my application..

I bought this antenna mast as part of a package. As simple as this mast is. This is poorly manufactured and next to impossible to assemble and utilize with the hardware provided. My advice is purchase a different mast or prepare to make several alterations for this mast to work. I rate this mast as a 0. The inner diameter of the mount is 2 ½” wide while the mast is 1 5/8” outer diameter. You are unable to utilize the bolts to fasten the mast to the mount. The mounting plate is not flat. The plate is curved side to side. The hex screw is not 2 ½” long, it is only 2 ¼” long The 2 “carriage screws” that are inserted on the inside of the mast to fasten to the outside of the mount are too short at only ½”. The lags “mounting screws are 2” and are too long and will stick out if fastening to a 2x? board. I ended up using 2, 3” long ¼’ bolts long enough to go from the outside of the mount through the mast and back into the other side of the mount. You could not tighten this enough that the mast would not drift downward from a straight vertical position. Once this was mounted I then put metal screws into the mount and through the mast to prevent the drift. Totally ludicrous. Another obstacle I ran into was when fastening the dipole to the antenna, the bolts were too long and I had to shim out the bolts with washers in order to tighten. Otherwise, the bolt would have stripped out going into the antenna and still would not have kept the dipole secure. Please look at the photos to more clearly observe the assembly problems and the mount quality.

Simple mast, strong enough to hold large antennas, a little difficult to get lower bolts in but otherwise easy to install

There was no info as to the diameter of the mast. It is too big for the antenna I have so I can not use this mast. Please put this important info on similar products.

Did the job. The smaller bolts were a little hard to install but worked fine.

Pipe and bracket are very sturdy. 3 threaded bolts are included plus 4 lag bolts. Replace the included 2 small carriage bolts with a 2nd longer hex bolt to save yourself some time & frustration.

Great tool to add height to the antenna. Puts it above a treeline sometimes.

Very happy with my Antennas Direct purchase. Though it's never easy working at thirty feet the mast came with quality instructions and the proper amount of good fitting hardware.

Bracket was a bit tall for the apex where the two facing boards meets at the end of the roof ridge but using a dremmel tool on the trim strips worked to creat slots to insert it in.

This mount worked perfectly for the installation of my Gen 2 Starlink dish. Down pole on the dish fits this mount perfectly. You can either drill for a through bolt, cut a square hole for the Starlink push button, or use a u-bolt clamp. I opted for the u-bolt. A bonus was that it has the same footprint as the old, larger diameter DirectTV mount I was replacing. I didn't have to drill new holes.

Purchased a ClearStream 4MAX COMPLETE UHF VHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna with Amplifier, 20-inch Mast, 30-foot Coaxial Cable, and Splitter along with a Universal J-Mount Mast 40-inch with Mounting Hardware. Installed the units outdoors in SW UT. Connected the antenna to a Tablo WiFi streaming unit and now comfortably watch any of 46 channels of broadcast programs on multiple TVs in my home. Superb products, reasonably priced and excellent customer service. Am ~75 years old and sometimes my brain writes checks my body can't cash, but this installation was well within my comfort zone. Go for it!
