Apple AirTag (1 Pack) (2nd generation)

A: No. “The AirTag 2 does not work with the iPhone 12 mini. To use the AirTag 2, your iPhone must be running iOS 26 or later, which includes models like the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16, and iPhone 17. The iPhone 12 mini does not support the ultra-wideband chip required for the AirTag 2, which is necessary for the extended Precision Finding range.”

A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Apple AirTag (2nd generation). There is no fixed “distance to locate a person” with an AirTag (2nd generation)—because AirTags are not designed to locate people at all. However, if you’re asking about how far an AirTag’s location can be detected when it’s attached to something a person is carrying, here’s how it actually works, with real‑world distances. Important clarification first ⚠️ Apple explicitly states that AirTags are for tracking items, not people, and using them to track a person without consent is prohibited and may be illegal. So the distances below describe technical detection ranges, not a supported “person‑tracking” feature. How AirTag (2nd gen) location works (distance depends on mode) 1️⃣ Precision Finding (close range) This is when you are nearby with your own iPhone. Requires an iPhone with Ultra Wideband (UWB) Uses direction + distance arrows Effective range: up to ~60 meters (≈200 feet) in ideal conditions Accuracy: centimeter‑level once close This only works when you are physically near the AirTag, not from afar. 2️⃣ Bluetooth detection (short range, non‑UWB) When a nearby Apple device detects the AirTag via Bluetooth. Typical Bluetooth range: Indoors: 10–30 meters (30–100 ft) Outdoors/open space: up to ~100 meters (330 ft) This detection does not give live direction—just a location update when detected. A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Apple AirTag (2nd generation). No. Apple AirTag (2nd generation) is designed to work with Apple's Find My network and requires a compatible Apple device, such as an iPhone or iPad, for setup and tracking. Android devices cannot be used to set up or fully use an AirTag. Android users can detect a nearby unknown AirTag for safety purposes, but they cannot use Android devices to manage or track their own AirTags through the Find My network. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Apple AirTag (2nd generation). Apple AirTag includes privacy and anti-tracking features designed to help people detect an unknown AirTag that may be traveling with them. Compatible devices can receive alerts if an AirTag that is not associated with their Apple ID appears to be moving with them over time. Because detection depends on device settings, software, and other factors, it is not possible to verify whether a specific person would or would not detect an AirTag.
