Pretty much the same as the last version
Typical iPhone, you pay a bunch of money for a somewhat upgraded version of the last model.

Bitter Sweet
Worst and Best IPhone I’ve had thus far. I’m the type that usually waits awhile before upgrading my phone so usually the upgrade is a big upgrade from my last. For example I’m coming off the 13 pro and got the 16 pro max so naturally it’s a better phone…buuuuuuuuutttttt it has major connectivity issues to my car that I don’t experience with the 13. So it’s bitter sweet but more bitter than sweet. Also think they may have slid me a refurbished 16 pro max that got returned early enough that it wouldn’t count as refurbished but that’s another review for another day.

If problems persist, consider consulting your car's manual or contacting Apple Support for further assistance.

Not Neurodivergent-Friendly — Too Rigid
I wanted to love this phone. I’ve been an Apple user for many years, and I bought this model with the hope that it could serve as both a phone and a camera for my small business. But after giving it an honest try, I realized the iPhone’s interface simply isn’t designed for how some of us process visual information. The two forced screens — the Today View on the far left and the App Library on the far right — cannot be removed, reorganized, or customized. Both use Apple’s mandatory “blurred background” effect, which creates constant visual noise. If you have a neurodivergent brain that needs clean lines, clarity, and order, this is extremely overstimulating. The App Library is especially difficult to use. Apps are grouped into vague categories inside boxes that cannot be edited, renamed, rearranged, or alphabetized. There is no way to create a simple, logical A–Z list of apps on the home screen. You must organize everything manually. For people who rely on structure and visual consistency, this becomes frustrating very quickly. The hardware is beautiful, and the camera is excellent — but the software design is rigid and inflexible. If you are neurotypical, this may not matter. But if you are neurodivergent, sensory-sensitive, or prefer a highly organized layout, be aware that the iPhone interface offers very limited control. I ultimately returned the phone. Not because it’s “bad,” but because it simply isn’t built for the way my mind works.

I went from a 13 Pro to a 16 Pro and have been impressed with the features and added capabilities. The battery last all day even when I’m on it for hours at work.

Powerful Phone With Premium Feel
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is an excellent upgrade overall. The performance is incredibly fast, the camera system is sharp and reliable, and the battery life easily gets me through a full day. The Black Titanium finish feels premium and durable. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel like some of the improvements are subtle compared to the previous model. Still, it’s a fantastic phone and I’m really happy with it.

Too large
This phone is okay. But it is way too large. These phones keep getting bigger and bigger and harder to hold in your hand with just one hand. Missing my old phone.

Very disappointed in how much this phone lags and how slow it is in general. Bought brand new and very disappointed. I should have stuck with my iPhone 14.
