Keep it pretty cool throughout the day if you put it in shade. I purchased this item and as soon as it got here, I put it outside in this Texas weather it was 98° outside and I have put it in the shade and it kept a pretty cool throughout the day. I put it outside at 12 P.M. And I brought it in at five P.M. and the water stayed cool. The cooler was reading 69° internal and the outside was 100°. So there was about 30° difference. I did put two ice packs along ice to keep it cool longer and it did melt throughout the day
