The Balloon Time Medium Kit is sure to make a great addition to your party supplies. Balloon Time helium tanks are ready to use straight out of the box, making it quick and easy to inflate balloons for any type of celebration – anytime, anywhere. Helium tanks are ideal for inflating latex or foil balloons for birthday parties, receptions, graduations, open houses, school, or office events and so much more. Make bouquets, arches or other décor for your event using the included colorful latex balloons, or use the helium tank to inflate letter balloons, number balloons, themed or other specialty balloons (sold separately). Balloon Time helium tanks can be safely stored for future use, making them convenient to keep on hand for celebrating at a moment’s notice. Q: Can I take it to El Salvador by plane

A: Probably too late for the original poster, but hopefully this is useful to future inquiries. Helium is a non-flammable compressed gas, and as such is categorized as a Division 2.2 hazardous material in the United States and Division 2.2 dangerous good in El Salvador. Such articles can be offered as cargo on aircraft, but cannot be brought on board by passengers nor offered in checked baggage. There are certain exceptions (see 49 CFR 175.10) but helium for balloons is not among those exceptions.

submitted bymsmot219 - 8 years agoA: Although the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) does not specify helium tanks, it refers to campers' propane tanks, et al., as follows: "Empty propane or gas cylinders are allowed in checked or carry-on bags as long as our officers can see inside." In other words, you would have to remove the valve and regulator/inflator, which, of course, would mean that the helium would escape! So, the answer would seem to be, "You cannot take this or any other kind of closed cylinder on board."

A: It doesn't loose any effectiveness while in storage. Had mine for months and use every now and then to fill up a balloon and still works fine.

A: There are instructions on how to recycle it. There’s a spot to puncture a hole with a hammer and screwdriver then you use a permanent marker to indicate that it’s been emptied. It’s not that difficult.
submitted bymjl411 - 8 years agoA: The instructions say to remove all air from the tank, first, using the nozzle as if you were blowing up additional balloons (I suggest you do this in a well-ventilated area, as direct exposure to helium is considered a potential health threat), then, punch a hole in the unit where specified (it's a ring near the top of the unit), then circle the punctured rink with a permanent marker and write the word "EMPTY" above it. You may NOT be able to dispose of it through your regular trash/recyclable pick-ups, so you may be forced to bring it to a local metal recycler/salvager/junk yard, who MAY pay you for whatever the metal (steel) is worth. Or call your local trash/recycle yard to see if they'll accept a delivery (n.b., some will accept such for free, but some may charge you for the privilege).

Lesson learned - Not interested in purchasing again
Like the many other reviewers, I bought this to save time and mostly money. Here are a few highlights: 1. It comes with 30 9" balloons so it may not be necessary to get additional unless you need a specific color or bigger size. I did the latter and will save the 9" size for a game of keepy uppy or another celebratory day. 2. This size helium tank only made about 17 balloons about 12" in size. 3. My latex balloons lasted about 12 hours before they deflated. 4. A 'Blue box store' will blow up balloons for $0.97 each, no matter the size. I don't know about any Party City prices. 5. I'll reconsider ordering/buying balloons bouquets for the next big celebration. 6. Maybe best if you're in a jam. 7. Compare prices and sizes with other stores... This was the best price, I thought. 8. You definitely need some muscle to open the tank. I had to rely on my husband when I normally don't need to. He had to use a wrench to open... I used about an hour after he opened.

It deserves a 0 star review…
J was trying to save some money and get a helium tank. I bought it for my daughter’s bday. They look perfectly the night before and less than 6 hours I woke up to ballon’s on the floor. Don’t waste your money on buying a helium tank. Now have to return it back to the store and get more balloons.

I had to return this because I could not get the nozzle to turn there's a green nozzle that you have to turn to release the helium and I couldn't get it to turn for anything I tried using tools nothing and then when I returned it the lady at the desk said she had bought it as well and had the same issue and not only that the balloons did not stay afloat for more than a couple hours so I had to manually blow up balloons all night long for my 2-year-old's birthday party the next morning and I stapled them to the ceiling to give the effect that they were floating

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
waste of $35. trust me don't buy it. first of all couldnt unscrew it to use it, was way to tight so almost couldnt blow anything up. all latex balloons are on the ground. don't use this unless the literal second you want flying balloons you blow them up. my whole daughter's bday balloon display was on the ground deflated before she saw it. waste of $35 helium and $15 balloons. it also did not blow up as many balloons as it said. crazy disappointed.

Waste of money
I was very disappointed in this product. I blew up the very small balloons that were provided at 9p the night before my son’s birthday party and by the morning they had all dropped to the ground. The issue seems to be the very poor quality balloons that were provided because the one balloon that I used that was no part of the kit was still inflated.

Defetive Helium
I bought this helium tank to blow up balloons for my 30th birthday, and it was a complete waste of money. I inflated all the balloons around 11:00 AM. When my friends and I came back to my house around 3:30 PM (just four and a half hours later) they were all completely deflated. It was so disappointing to come home to a flat, lifeless setup after working over an hour to blow them all up/bundle them. I wish I could get my money back.

Do not buy!! This product was horrible! The balloons were very small and once they were inflated, they didn't even stay afloat for more than a couple hours. Huge waste of money and super disappointing.
