Bernat Blanket Yarn Coal

This yarn is very soft!! Easy to work with and so many colors.

I bought bernat blanket yarn in various colors to crochet a throw. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it went using thicker yarn. It was comfortable for my hand and the colors are beautiful.

Bernat yarn is inconsistent in quality. I often receive skeins with knots that cannot be undone. Also, depending on the dye lot, the texture can be different.

Very good yarn. It makes a very nice looking blanket.

Disappointed on the inconsistency of the color coal my queen size blanket was very not up to my standards because of all the different textures aw well as the color. Contacted yarninspirations with pictures and they said they never received it so now I have a prepaid envelope to send my yarn pieces and paper bands. Let’s see 🧶

As with any bulky yarn, be prepared for a tug of war. 😂 But seriously all of the bulky yarns don’t move as easily over the hook as lighter weight yarns do. But the quality of the yarn is as expected because it’s Bernat.

BBY is easy to work with (as bulky yarn goes), comes in so many gorgeous colors and you can easily find combinations that work together beautifully. The yarn is SOFT! BBY also launders so well! I always recommend washing in a giant mesh laundry bag, but my daughter can’t be bothered….she throws the blanket in the washer and dryer and it looks as good as the day I made it over 10 years ago! I’m on a fixed income so I wait for sales but I buy as much as my budget allows. Next sale…run…don’t walk!

My favorite yarn for stuffies and big flowers. Love!

I got several skeins of this yarn during a sale to make a few blankets. No matter what the color, I found several knots in each skein. If I were to cut each knot out at the end or beginning of a row, I would be wasting so much yarn and possibly only get two rows out of each skein. The factory knots are THAT bad! The quality also isn’t consistent. Some skeins are fluffy and almost tubular strands, while others look like they’re been stepped on by elephants. I love the finished look and feel of this yarn but the knots and inconsistent texture makes me want to never use this again. I spend more time weaving in ends than I do crocheting.

Still love my Bernat Blanket yarn. It is my "go to" when I need a soft blanket. It works up quick, looks great and lasts a long time. I have been crocheting with Blanket yarn for years. Many of my blankets have been through several moves and countless washing and they still look great!
