A: To operate our child-resistant BIC® Multi-purpose Lighter, you must: 1) hold the utility lighter with your thumb resting on the latch and your index finger on the trigger, 2) depress the latch with the tip of your thumb and hold in, and 3) pull the trigger with your index finger. The child-resistant mechanism will automatically reset after each use. There is also a helpful video on the product page on Target.com

These could be great for a gorilla. But for a real person with regular hands, it's ridiculously hard to work these. It takes both hand to depress both triggers simultaneously. I've used lots of 2-trigger devices, and it doesn't have to be this difficult! I think I'll get one that I can work from the dollar store.

This is the second or third time my lighter from BIC has just stopped working out of nowhere and the flame flickers barely but won't light up. Exhausting that this happens after only a few months with them and they are supposed to be top notch.
