A: To operate our child-resistant BIC® Multi-purpose Lighter, you must: 1) hold the utility lighter with your thumb resting on the latch and your index finger on the trigger, 2) depress the latch with the tip of your thumb and hold in, and 3) pull the trigger with your index finger. The child-resistant mechanism will automatically reset after each use.

The lighter is fine. The shopping experience was not. First, this was a replacement for my original order, that was a purple duo in two tones. This was supposed to be light purple / lilac (reason why I ordered this). Got an ugly weird tone of red. The publication didn't say (or I didn't see it) that they could come in any color or I wouldn't ordered it.
