Description

Big Stan is the trio of Tim Berne, Marc Ducret and Tom Rainey, formerly of Berne's Science Friction Band. SOULS SAVED HEAR compresses this riotous improvising ensemble into a potent but strangely accessible final package. Berne's idoysncratic presence is obvious throughout; Rainey's drums are propulsive and unrelenting: and Ducret's guitar is a commanding presence, whether picking out perfectly articulated acoustic melodies or shredding into oblivion with impossibly fast discordant runs smothered in distortion.
