Review Quotes

"This is a masterpiece of historical Christian fiction that pulls you in and points to God's purpose in suffering. Woven throughout the story is the idea that there is always a purpose to our pain. Even when we cannot see or feel it, God is doing something bigger than what we can see in the moment. Our greatest difficulties often become our greatest opportunities to grow closer to Christ and become a blessing to others. You cannot help but see yourself in the story, and be reminded that even in the worst circumstances, God is bringing about our greater good and the good of those we love and will love."

"Once again Dr. James Trammell has intricately woven a seemingly random set of characters into a profound and Biblically sound example of how God works all things together for his people. Threads are craftily woven into a beautiful story that inspires us and with the ultimate message that all of our lives are intertwined. Even when we cannot see or understand how the challenges we face are part of a plan, our ultimate good is the result. Dr. Trammell is a master weaver of characters, historical events, and Biblical truth into heartwarming and entertaining storytelling. Come along on this trip through a difficult time in our history as a nation, and the many obstacles faced by the characters within, and see how this masterful storyteller tells the story of the characters and relays a strong gospel message through the art of the tale. I especially enjoy how the imperfect characters play a role in accomplishing good purposes even when their moral compass is not completely correct. I also appreciate the way this story demonstrates that God uses everyone, not just his most ardent followers. I enjoyed this book and cannot wait to have the privilege to read the next one!!!"
