CAT Remote Control Micro Excavator

We purchased the is item 2 times & both times it stopped working after the first charge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves all kind of vehicle toys and he was really excited to receive Cat Micro RC Excavator. The hard hat is the controller, which is really innovative. This is really cute and fun excavator to play with. And it can be a cute, portable toy that you can take with you while travelling. But my son lost interest in this pretty soon because it doesn't go very fast, the charging part didn't work for us and there are not many functions to play with. Its good for playing pretend or taking it with you during travel.

The only thing my son didn’t like was it didn’t last very long once it was charged and ready to go. Otherwise I would recommend getting it.

My 3 year old had a hard time grasping the use of the controller and also holding that round helmet controller in his little hands. It's a cute toy but my little guy lost interest fast.

He drove it in the grass and dirt and it moved pretty well which I didnt expect from a toy. He absolutely loves it which makes it a win in my eyes. Two thumbs up!

Pros: - fast, fun - can move the top part of the vehicle around - hat controller works well Cons: - battery life of vehicle is short - the edges of the connector cable are somewhat sharp and it was painful for me to connect it to the vehicle

That was a big disappointment. He loves big tractors and considering that this is a CAT product I thought that it would come with more features that were aligned to that. I think that the battery housing having a screw on it is a good safety feature for parents and adults who have young kids however, the controller doesn’t seem very ergonomic and also hard to explain to a kid even though it seems so simple. I expected this actually have a hat For it but instead they had a controller. As for the charging feature for the car, that seems like some thing that a child is not going to be able to comprehend very well, and also because of the orientation of the plug not only is it small and difficult for a kid to operate, but it’s also oriented in a specific way and can’t go in another way which seems not kid friendly at all. The battery charge doesn’t last very long either since you have to charge the car with the hat controller and also key batteries in the controller to make a controller work so it’s a battery heavy. I thought it was a rechargeable car is in the hat, and the vehicle were able to be charged at a wall outlet but it’s not like that. All in all, this was a very disappointing toy for me and my nephew I would not purchase this again.
