Whether you reside in the southwest US or not, it's good to have options in life. I'll grant you, the original red Tabasco sauce has been a classic staple since the 19th century. However, it's time to show green, which is jalapeño & poblano in this instance, some love. In exchange for a sincere review, I was provided a complimentary sample of Cholula® Green Pepper Hot Sauce. This novel condiment took my eggs from mediocrity to genuine tastiness. I appreciate its versatility, and can envision enhancing chicken, potatoes, cream gravy, beans, and even more if you're an ingenuitive foodie. One could add it to basically any household staple. It doesn't solely function as a kick of spice, but also has a nuanced flavor profile that precedes the conspicuous, but not overpowering, heat element. This commendable compliment has traits admirable in sauces and people; it's both stable and has longevity. My suggestion to resolve the original quandary is, "Both." Why limit ourselves? Variety is the spice of life.

One of my favorite things about this sauce is that it adds plenty of flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. However the smokiness is slightly overpowering what makes Cholula its distinct flavor. Would definitely continue to stick to the original as a go to sauce for every day use

It's nice to add a little flavor to tacos or taco bowls, as well as adding a little something extra to pizza or nachos. It's just enough of a kick to spice things up but not overwhelmingly spicy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cholula Green Pepper Hot Sauce is pretty good, but it's not the best green pepper hot sauce I've had. It has a nice tangy jalapeño flavor, but there is almost no heat to it at all. The sauce is pretty runny, so it's easy to accidentally pour way too much onto your eggs or tacos. Overall, it's a decent sauce to have around, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again.

I used to love the stuff but you added the acetic acid and natural flavors. It was fine without it. without the right amount of vinegar it doesn't ferment like it used to. Between heavy metals found in your seasoning and changing recipes to gain more profit. You lost a regular customer.

McCormick acquired with ingredient changes with low quality ingredients such as "natural flavors" and acetic acid changing the flavor as a watery sour condiment. Back to Tabasco.

Its not overpowering and it has a great flavor. I have has others that are too much hear that overpowers the flavor. This has a great balance of heat and flavor. Not only does it go great on tacos but great on breakfast foods as well hash browns and eggs .

Started with eggs at breakfast, then it made its way onto tacos, grain bowls, even weeknight dinners... it's that versatile. What I love is the smoky flavor without overwhelming heat. It's got a nice kick but isn't so spicy that it takes over the dish, which means I can add it to pretty much anything without worrying about it being too much. Honestly, this is replacing a bunch of other sauces in my rotation: barbecue sauce, chipotle adobo, even soy sauce. One bottle doing the work of several. Highly recommend if you want an easy way to add smoky depth to whatever you're cooking.

We enjoyed it with our steak tacos but also used it on burgers one night as well. The smokey chipotle flavor works really well with beef dishes.
