Q: Can someone tell me how this is supposed to look when you first open the tin? I’ve purchased twice and when opened, the tin was 1/2 empty.

  • A: Made the mistake of putting 2 putties in 1 tin & it seeped out the sides despite not looking that full. That's why they use bigger tins that look half full. It can spread when it settles.

Q: how do you make a Swirl with the Putty

  • A: We would recommend separating the putty into 3 equal pieces, leave one piece in the tin, the second put into the fridge and warm the third piece in your hands. When the piece in your hands turns pink, the piece in the fridge should have turned blue. Next, you will want to roll all three into similar sized log rolls (you will want to work fast as the colder color will start to warm up) then place the 3 rolls next to each other and twist them into a spiral. This should cause the 3 colors to swirl together!

  • A: Crazy Aaron's 3.5" Thinking Putty is designed to be non-toxic and generally doesn't permanently stick to fabric, but it can cling to clothing fibers if pressed into them, especially soft or fuzzy fabrics. If it gets on clothes, it's best to remove it as soon as possible by gently lifting it off rather than rubbing it in. Any remaining residue can usually be washed out with regular laundry detergent, though delicate fabrics may require extra care.

    Not what i expected

    The puffy or whatever this is looked like it had melted into the can. The can looked half empty. The color was pink and not galactic looking at all. Definitely not what I was expecting.

    dont buy

    horrible putty my childs hands was covered in this stuff and could not get it off her hands and her nails. took 45 mins just to get half of it off, still working on it and had to use dishsoap for grease on it

    When my child opened the product and asked me to open it, I was surprised at how empty the tin was. I thought it was just a small portion of the product.     Overpriced and gets sticky quickly

    These tins are overpriced and sometimes they are impossible to open. I own several and over time the putty turns sticky. I emailed CS and the solution they offered is to sanitize your hands completely before using the putty. They said if it’s contaminated there’s nothing you can do. The company doesn’t really seem to care about its consumers based on how they responded.

    i bought this with my money that i had gotten from this recent christmas . the putty is very soft and fun to play with ! the putty has a lot of glitter in it to make it look space-y , and you can feel the glitter when you play with it ( i love that ! ) . i love this putty !

    Great putty - terrible packaging

    I really, really wish that Crazy Aaron's would change their packaging. That would make it a five-star thinking putty. The putty itself is great - has both stretch and snap, there is an endless variety of different colors, mixins, etc. that keep kids with different interests engaged. I find the putty to be something that I keep on my desk and tend to use when bored in meetings or when I'm (wait for it..) thinking. But - and this is a big but - the packaging stinks. No matter what size putty I get, at some point during the shipping/putting on the shelf process, putty gets between the container and the lid, creating a glue like system that makes the lid impossible to take off. I've broken many fingernails trying. Once I've finally pried it open and rubbed off the putty that's acting like the glue the lid works fine, but it has taken me signficant effort and time to get lids off. (And if you have a surefire, pain-free way to get those lids off, I'd love to know your secret). If you lack hand strength or get easily frustrated, you might consider another brand.
