Crosley Bates Outdoor Sofa Glider Bright Red

I had wanted one of these large gliders for the covered front porch of my 1950's house. After looking at vintage ones that were either too far away or in rough condition I decided to go with this modern reproduction by Crosley. I had purchased a couple of Crosley motel chairs in the past and was pleased with the quality. There were a couple of different vendors online that carry this glider; having had good experiences with Gardner's Supply before, I decided to order through them. The glider shipped quickly and assembly was not too bad. For this size glider you really need two people and your own tools make easier work than the ones provided with the hardware. The glider quality is good for a modern piece. The vintage ones are definitely a thicker gauge of steel but I knew that before I ordered so no surprise. The color I ordered, Green, was as pictured and the unit is sturdy and glides smoothly. The size was just perfect, large enough for my husband and me to sit with our dogs. The customer service from Crosley was phenomenal. When we assembled the glider one of the round plastic leveling feet that screws into the bottom (there are two per side) was missing and the little bottle of green touch up paint had a loose top so the paint was dried up. I called the Crosley customer service number on the assembly instructions and they promptly sent both via Fedex. The glider was well packed but it's a large item, the box gets wear during transport and some scratches are inevitable. There was nothing major and the touch up paint took care of it. We have the glider on our covered front porch which is well protected from direct sun/rain/snow. I think if it were in a completely exposed location the piece will probably show some fade and rust, but so do the vintage ones. I added some cushions and pillows and it's quite comfortable. 20x20 inch patio chair cushions fit quite well. We are happy with our purchase, it's the look and color we wanted for our porch.
