Description

Venice, five centuries ago. In order to celebrate the glory of Venice, the Doge, the maximum authority of the Republic, ordered the construction of a new state ship. In the game, the players play the role of the most skilled shipbuilders of Venice who are called by the Doge to cooperate on the construction of the new ship. Each player has to build parts of the Ship in order to earn victory points, but also Gondolas to get money, and Barriers for the protection of the shipyard and the city.

Fun, but takes a long time.

This is a fun worker placement game. Players work together to build a new ship for the Doge while trying to earn the most victory points along the way. There is an interesting mechanism by which a dice throw at the beginning of each round. Designates how much each of the actions will cost for that round. On a player's turn they will either gather or build. Player order changes each round which is also an interesting twist. The quality of the game pieces is excellent.
