Dreamland - by Nicholas Sparks

This was different to me than any of his other work. Romantic without pushing it and a seriously twisted ending that will hook you.

Such a great book! Definitely a page turner! I couldn't put it down!

I be ready all his books so far. This was a little slow for me. Personally, I don’t like when books switch characters and timelines going back and forth. Glad to finally finish it.

Another good book by Nicholas Sparks. He knows how to touch your heart.

Love this book! I love how it wasn’t super predictable.

Although this is the first NS book I’ve read in about 5 years and I enjoyed it, it didn’t feel like a true NS story. I feel like this story was trying to hard to evolve out of the romance genre into a mystery genre.

One of Nicholas Sparks’ best novels (I’ve read them all!) by far!! It was a real page-turner. The ending was surprising in more ways than one! I absolutely love this book.

Told from two different points of view, Dreamland follows the lives of Colby and Beverly in a mix of romance and mystery. The lives of these two characters are intertwined together in an unexpected plot twist. Colby is an aspiring musician who ends up managing the family farm in North Carolina instead of pursuing his music career. Taking a rare break from farm duties, he takes a short-term gig in Florida where he meets recent college grad Morgan. Like Colby, Morgan also has musical aspirations and is planning a move to Nashville to follow her dreams. Beverly is a young mom desperate to leave her abusive husband and start a new life with her son. Living everything behind, she lands in a small town. Through her best efforts to remain hidden, she feels like she’s being tracked. Once the lives of Colby, Morgan and Beverly collide, it’s a suspenseful but heartfelt story that you can’t stop reading. A book that will blow you away because you won’t see anything coming! Absolutely loved this book! This book has two story lines: Colby Mills hasn’t always had an easy life, raised by his aunt and uncle in Eastern, NC. He had to put his goals aside when his uncle died of a massive heart attack. He had to step up and take over running the family farm. Colby had been in a band, but now just played occasionally for local parties. Colby was playing at a party when the booker of a bar from St. Petersburg, Florida was there and asked if he would come down to play for 2 weeks. He agreed, since he hadn’t taken a vacation and needed one badly. Will this give him the push he needs to pursue his music career? Beverly is living with an abusive husband who not only physically hurts her, but also causes harm to her son. She knows she has to leave and takes the opportunity one night. Her husband works for the Department of Homeland Security, so is well connected to law enforcement. Will she be able to hide from her husband and keep her son safe? A highly emotional book that will keep you guessing until everything is revealed. This book will give you a book hangover and have you thinking about it long after it’s done. Definitely a must read for your TBR list!
