Best advent book I’ve ever read!!

This book was TRULY life-changing for our family. I rarely write reviews, and I don’t say that lightly. It has been the #1 biggest blessing from the Lord for our family this whole year and has led to REAL, surprisingly deep conversations with our kids who were starting to pipe up and actually share from their hearts by the middle of the book during the Ponder section. We have looked forward to it every single night as a “cozy time” right before we put the kids to bed to pause and connect with the Lord and each other and it has helped SO MUCH to have this beautiful resource to “do the hard work” for us of having deep, meaty, Biblical truths at our fingertips each night to re-center us after a busy day if we just simply come sit down together and open it up and start reading! I was truly surprised after each day’s reading how much it helped our whole family to not only remember what really matters but even stick with us into the next day as conversations naturally kept coming up about the reading from the night before! It’s as good as Ruth and Troy’s book called Foundations that also was a gift straight from the Lord to our family when we first discovered it last year! I can’t recommend this author enough for real, life-changing impact!!

A Must For Advent!

Each year I look for a new book to go through during Advent. As one of my selections this year I've chosen Emmanuel by Ruth Chou Simons. I'm doing the audio version of it that is read by Ruth herself. It's absolutely lovely. It's divided into 25 different daily readings and the audio version is about five minutes each. Ruth's voice has a tone that is soothing and invites the listener to slow down and ponder what is being said. It would be the perfect companion to the busy momma. Short, sweet encouragement to start the day. I don't think I've ever bought both the audio version and the physical version of a book before but for this one I really must. As I just said I loved the audio version but I adore Ruth's artwork so I am going to have to purchase the hard copy as well. If you're looking for a way to celebrate the season of Advent you can't go wrong with either edition. I received a copy of this audiobook to facilitate my review.

Our blessed Emmanuel (God with us) is indeed the only reason we have Christmas to celebrate! Who are we that He is mindful of us! Allow our faithful Lord Jesus to use His precious truths through this dearly beloved sister to encourage, settle, comfort your heart for this most beautiful season and ALL the year through!
