Description

The Unknown Journey Continues
The second game of the FINAL FANTASY VII remake trilogy.

After escaping from the dystopian city of Midgar, Cloud and his friends set out on a journey across the planet. New adventures await in a vibrant and vast world – sprint across grassy plains on a chocobo and explore expansive environments.

Story

The lifestream represents the very cycle of life and death, where all life emerges from the planet and returns to its embrace. However, the Shinra Electric Power Company ruthlessly drains the planet of its very essence, the lifestream, and processes it for industry as "mako."

After overcoming countless fierce battles in the mako-powered metropolis of Midgar, ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife and his companions step out into the wider world. Riding across grassy plains atop chocobos, they embark on an uncertain path, beginning their fated journey across the planet.

At the same time, SOLDIER First Class Zack Fair walks through the wastelands outside of Midgar. Wounded and weary, he drags his battered body forward while supporting his dear friend Cloud, who is delirious from mako poisoning. Beyond the veil of death, an ominous rift tears the heavens above.

Meanwhile, the Wutai interim government leads the Shinra Resistance Committee in a declaration of war.

In a grim procession, mysterious black-robed figures carry the remains of Jenova, the alien entity infamously known as the cataclysm from the stars and the catalyst of our plight.

Sensing the threat to the Planet itself, the fearsome guardians known as Weapons awaken and rise from the lifestream.

Through the machinations of Cloud’s sworn enemy Sephiroth, the strands of destiny intertwine and are reborn again.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is the highly anticipated new story in the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project, a reimagining of the iconic original game into three standalone titles by its original creators. In this game, players will enjoy various new elements as the story unfolds, culminating in the party’s journey to “The Forgotten Capital” from the original FINAL FANTASY VII.

Felt it was Very Boring and Empty

This game is tricky because it is arguably the top pay pig for Square Enix perhaps of all time, and the fan base treats the characters as if they were real people and the events as if they actually happened. As a video game I hated it, as the core gameplay loop is just running around scanning towers/scannables in different regional zones that all have very tedious terrain that requires a unique mount to cross/scale. Very little interaction with new towns or an in game world other than CGI cutscene laden fetch quests. As for the rest of the game, there's not too much to tell. It's very complicated with the ATB combat gimmick. You're always getting locked into cutscenes or an area that prevents you from leaving. I personally think FF Online was the best FF story, combat and lore, but for a revamp of a 30 year game this is probably the best they could do gameplay wise although I wanted full on open world similar to the originals. On that note I am tired of remake game releases such as this as it is lazy money printing.
