Q: How high is the shelf above the desk top (how much vertical clearance is there from top of desk to shelf)? Is the back panel of the hutch white on both sides - i.e., white if viewed from the back?

A: i) The desk top to the shelf clearance is approx.. 10.5 inches. ii) The back of the back panel is finished in white.

Q: Do I need to attach the hutch? Or can it be left off and still look good on all sides?

A: The hutch comes as an attachment to the table top. You can leave out the hutch but this will leave the table top showing the pre-drilled holes for the attachment. .

not as sturdy as it could be, but if its kept in one place its not too bad, definitely to move around take EVERYTHING off the desk and have 2 people move it, legs could break easily if you're trying to move alone on carpet or bumpy floors. great for small apartments or office room or middle schoolers!!! one thing, the drawer gets off track after opening so much, gotta readjust here n there but i like it, it works for my space and its minimal and does the job!

Great little desk!
I bought this for my daughter to do her homework on. It went together SO easy. It only took about 25 minutes with one person. Everything was labeled really well and the desk and drawer were already assembled. You only have to attach the legs and hutch. It's pretty sturdy. I would definitely recommend this one. A little pricey but we got it when there was a sale and comparatively it was much better priced than some other places I looked.
