A: Unfortunately, the shoulder strap isn't removable. The actual length of the shoulder strap is 53 inches and the maximum drop length is 23.5 inches. There are 2 side pockets: one is a mesh pocket for water bottles and the other one is a cellphone pocket.

J World changed the design
A few years ago I bought one in a different color. I bought a second one in a different color recently. They changed their logo; my new bag had a different logo than the one in the picture. There is now two logos. One is a plastic tag with “J WORLD” sewn in on the top left seam of the front flap. It is not easily removable. Plastic isn’t easy to cut and using a seam ripper will cause the bag to come apart. The other logo is a clear plastic circle with the letter J and a plus sign on the right corner. I liked the design better when there was a single ribbon-like tag on the bottom right corner that could be easily removed with a seam ripper. The black in the logos clashes with the print I picked. I’m disappointed.

The styles are all cute, but if you plan on having anything beyond a very light laptop and a wallet, save your money and look elsewhere. Mine has already ripped on both sides after just 3 months of relatively light commuting use, and the strap wanders and bunches on the unstitched side.

I received the bag far sooner than expected, I can't say how well this bag will hold up compared to the last messenger bag I purchased in store. The bag feels like a polyester/ water proof mix and is kind of stiff. Its large enough to fit my 15 in laptop and large book with 3 subject notebook. I love the bag so far just wish that it came in pink and that it had 2 flexible side pockets. Overall very good for price.
