A: Hi SM, our Kendakids are made from a combination of materials and is made up of approximately 70% paperboard, 25% plastic (Polyethylene) and 5% aluminium. While not all recycling facilities can process cartons, many can, and they're a better choice than HDPE bottles, which are made from petroleum and can end up in landfills. Additionally, the outer cluster pack our cartons come in is made from entirely recyclable cardboard. It's a much better alternative to plastic "six pack rings" that can harm wildlife. We're proud to partner with Tetra who are continuously working to improve their processes and materials and make their cartons even more sustainable. This includes increasing the use of plant-based plastics and developing new ways to recycle and recover materials. Hope this helps!

Gas can happen with any new food or drink, so it can help to start with small amounts, serve with meals, and increase gradually. We don’t currently make a lactose-free Kendakids shake. The carb source in our Vita-Boost Shakes is lactose, the naturally occurring sugar in milk which provides steady energy for active, growing kids. For daily nutrition, around 45- 65% of our calories should come from carbohydrates (including sugars) since they are our primary source of energy. Unlike high glycemic index sugars such as table sugar, corn syrup or maltodextrin, lactose digests slowly, leading to a gradual, less rapid, rise in blood sugar. Hope this helps!

A: Hi Kate, I can assure you that no hormones or antibiotics are added. This product is made with European milk, hormones are banned in Europe for the cow’s diet. Therefore all Kendamil products are hormone free. Milk antibiotic testing at Kendal Nutricare is considered a Critical Control Point (CCP), and testing is conducted on every milk tanker prior to offloading. Failure of this CCP is considered a legal issue - any failing tankers are rejected and reported to the FSA (Food Standards Agency). By law, failed milk cannot enter the market for human consumption. Antibiotic absence is verified by dairy team leaders and recorded in a milk intake log. Hope this helps!

A: Hi Nadine, Natural separation and coagulation can happen because whey protein is sensitive to changes over time. We avoided many gels and carrageenan that act as emulsifiers to keep the recipe as clean as possible, but this recipe also means the protein is more prone to its natural behaviour. While we carefully formulated the product and used homogenisation as part of our processing to minimize this, some clumping can still occur. To help reduce this, we put 'chill, shake and enjoy' on the bottle to encourage a good shake before drinking.
