Not a tea kettle--ruined

My sister and I bought this for my mom as a gift because she loves blue and white accents. It was completely ruined (the white turned brown) by using twice to boil water for tea. We realized it says not to heat above 120 degrees, which means that it is essentially not a tea kettle as it cannot boil water.

Very heavy

Incredibly heavy to hold. When pouring tea its awkward to pull the grip up with one hand and pour. Would not recommend.

Will it boil water? Not at 120 degrees

I’m a little worried about this darling kettle. The bottom of the kettle states “Do Not Heat Above 120 degrees”. Why would Target say it boils water so efficiently? Water boils at 212 degrees and I need boiling water for my tea. Should I return it or just take a chance.
