@ashleys_book_club Book 6 of 2021⠀ “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg ⠀ ⠀ I know I’m extremely late to the hype for this book and I wish I had read it 7 years ago. I can not even begin to tell you how helpful this would have been either right before or right after I had my sweet Cash Man. (It was published a few months before he was born, seems like I should have been paying more attention. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️) ⠀ Before you read any further I want you to know that I do not agree with everything in this book and understand why some felt frustration after reading it. For me, reading “Lean In” reminded me I am allowed to be a good mother and a good worker, which is something I have been needing to hear for a while now. I’ve been struggling a lot and wondering if I should continue working because I miss my kids. I feel as though I am missing out on their lives and that I am not being as supportive or present as they need me to be. Anyway, just take it with a grain of salt or just read the first half of the book. ⠀ ⠀ I will say that it has been helpful for me to continue putting up boundaries and asking for help in the workplace. I thankfully work with a bunch of MFT’s so it’s much easier for me to bounce ideas, get help with boundaries, get help with work place frustrations, and so much more. ⠀ ⠀ Sheryl Sandberg does discuss focusing on hours put in and/or time spent in the office over results in work in this book. After 2019 I think we can all agree the world has seen we don’t need to be in the office for us to get the same results and possibly even better results. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .⠀ 🌟🌟🌟 3/5
