Letter learning made fun (and playfully tasty)

These cookies make letter-learning fun. We use them right now as part of our play kitchen, and it's great for adults to "order" up various letters or types of letters -- only cookies with red frosting, for example. It's great that we will later be able to extend the play with the game cards.

I would purchase this game again and recommend it for early

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this game for our 5-year old grandson who has Down Syndrome. He knows his aphabet, all his colors and loves puzzles. This is an excellent game to re-enforce his sight and verbal language development & also strengthen his fine motor skills. He loves matching the donut shaped letters to the word cards.

Great Learning Resource

The cookies are adorable. They are extremely well made and make learning fun. My child loves holding them and using them to match the lowercase letter cookies to capital letters on a printable we have. The cards are a nice addition as well as the spinners. They are a good resource with or without the included games & cards. By the second day my child wanted to use them again and started to spell words in a labeled picture book. These are highly engaging and have many possibilities for learning. I received all of the letters with a few duplicates (none missing), but I do wish the top snapped closed as others mentioned. However they are easy for children to open and close. I would highly recommend. I would love to have some numbers like these too!

Revamp the packaging, maybe?

Disappointed in the presentation of this item. The container is 1/2 filled with cookie letters, which are more orange in color, and 1/2 filled with cardboard. The lid does not latch, but rather simply sits on the jar. The container and cookie letters smell overwhelmingly like paint. However, I am certain my children will enjoy the cookie letters once aired and gifted.

This is a great learning tool.

I am a Foster Grandparent and I work with children in a Kindergarten class. They love this game and it helps them with learning their letters and forming words. The progression during the semester is amazing. This is my second game, I needed more letters because we are forming longer and bigger words by the end of the Semester.

Lid does not stay on. Not many letters.

This is just not as engaging as I had hoped for. We were missing some letters. The container does not seal properly. I would not purchase again. I would highly recommend the acorn game though!!

Very educational!

This is a great learning resource! I used it with three and four year olds and they understood it easily. The reason I gave this four stars and not five is because of the letter font on the word cards. The font is the same as my text here, which means the letter 'a' does not look like a regular lower case 'a' but the cookie letter does. Therefore, during a game, one of my four-year-old children spelt 'Bat' with an upside down 'g' as this was the cookie that most resembled the letter! I think the font for the word cards should be in either 'Comic Sans' or 'Bradley Hand' as these both resemble the way we write. I am going to make and laminate my own word cards to replace the ones that are supplied.

Fresh baked cookies

Love, love, love these cookies. So do my students. I use them at circle time and with small groups. The games are easy and fun. I like to use a large cookie sheet and have the children match them to the same letter. Great for reviewing past and present letters.

Everybody loves cookies!

This was a fun and educational game to play with early readers! One of the best things about it is that it can be played many different ways and easy to follow instructions are included. While playing this game my young learners practice many pre-reading skills like matching letters, recognizing letter shape and direction. There was also alphabetical order practice and initial, ending and middle letter sounds practice. The pieces are durable and colorful. The cookie letters are also helpful to students practice with weekly spelling words.
