Q: What is the measurement from the floor to the bottom brace? We have a low ceiling, but really wanting a bunk over the bed currently being used. I would need to cut the wood down and lower it.

I had to bring out my drill and manipulate the holes for the screws to line up. After that minor setback, the bed was complete and enjoyed by my boys.

Not safe.

I bought this for my 8 year old autistic son who still needs me to lay down with him once in a while. I bought it because the weight limit would be more than enough to hold the 2 of us. I also have 2 sides of this up against the wall for extra support. It is not safe. Let me just say that like the previous review said, the screws loosen up very quickly and even tightened it needs an extra support lengthwise on the bottom. I had 2, 50 point kids up there and when they came down they both came down on the far side of the bed at the same time and had I not been standing there to catch it- the whole thing would have fallen down. PLEASE go spend your money on something else. This is NOT safe. ..

Bed too short for a standard mattress

It's a great bed and relatively easy to assemble but a standard twin mattress doesn't fit. The bed is an inch or two short and you have to wedge the mattress in.

Great bed!! Very solid and can tell it was well made. Purchased for my 10 year old to have more space in his small room and be able to fit his gaming stuff underneath. Took about 5 hours to put together and took 2 people to put together. Only complaint, wish it came with 2 of the larger Allen wrenches. If you want a sturdy safe bed for your child this is the bed!!!!

Bad smell and no returns

This bed smelled terrible. We opened it and let it off gas for two weeks, and it's still bad. It's really hard for me to believe this is GreenGuard certified. We have to sell it, because they won't let us return it. Which, FYI, you can return these beds if you buy them through other sellers. But also, the color is no where near the image online. The "pecan" just looks dirty. We had a bed from M&L a decade ago and we loved it! Not sure what happened.

Sturdy, But be Prepared to Tighten the Bolts Occasionally

Setup was alright, I guess. Seems sturdy enough once you get the bolts tightened, though I wish the metal support rod for the slats wasn’t so hollow. However, do not set this thing up in such a way that you can’t reach the screws to tighten them because if you got this for a young adult or an adult, those bolts will start to loosen. Be careful with tightening or you will get a crack in the wood (I’ve had this thing up and in use for two weeks and it’s already happened to me on one of the lower long boards).
