The sorter comes with three sections that you could put letters, bills, folders, or any documents to help keep them separate. The sorter is not the length of a standard letter. The metal frame keeps the sorter in good shape and easier to stand. It does have a mesh look. This would be perfect to have placed on an at home office desk, or by the front door to keep organized when letters are brought inside. The metallic color should be able to blend into most decor styles. However, if you really like it but not the color then, I think it could be spray painted. It matches most any decor. The mesh design is modern. It is not heavy so it can be moved easily. There are 3 compartments the seem to be about an inch to 2 inches deep. They are staggered heights to make looking through mail easier. I will use in my office. I received an incentive to write this review.
