It was a five star product in all categories.

I would give this product a 5 except for this last box of medium milkbones. They are slightly smaller and break easily...something they never did before. Two of my dogs won't eat them now and the other two only eat one and don't beg for another. This was not the case before when they would not stop begging for them. I wonder if the tariffs had something to do with this obvious change in taste smell and consistency. I can understand if made slightly smaller but what happened to the taste? This has been my go to for dog treats as they are or were more healthy than other items on the market. I have purchased the large box for years. Dogs would consume them fast but now I don't think they will finish this new box. Really sad.

    The cracker of dogs

I’m a pet sitter and this is my go-to for dogs with sensitive stomachs. It’s the town house cracker of dogs, affordable and classic.

Recipe Change? (Not good at all.)

This review is for the medium size dog bones. Overlooked entering comments on the medium size dog bone review. Not able to add comments now. I am not surprised reading about the low rated reviews. I have fed 2 of my dogs medium size milk bones for 23 years. Recently my special boy started having consistent major diarrhea. He has always been a dog that could not have chicken or beef. He has always loved his milk bones. I had noticed a significant different look in the medium size milk bones They look lighter in color, harder and a slight curve in their form. After several bouts of diarrhea I decided to eliminate the bones from my boy’s diet. Took a bit of time and his system got better. Changing the recipe I am certain is key to why my boy got sick. Any type of meat ingredient I do not believe was in the prior recipe. On top of his system, being so negatively effective, his reaction to them being taken away was truly so sad. Trying not to sound dramatic he literally laid down on the floor and was so upset when he did didn’t see his dog bone box in the long cabinet in the kitchen. He used to go in and help himself if I left the cabinet door open. It’s been sometime now since I took them away from him and it took him a long time to stop looking into the cabinet when it was open. Sharing this is to express how much he loved them. Very hard to find bones that are hard without meat or meat byproduct. I do think this is the culprit. I rated my dog high for liking the taste (for years) even with recipe change sonce he continued loving them.

What is different, what and why :(

I don’t know what’s different in these, is what it’s saying formula change is true? Either way, I have had my 3 dogs on milk bone treats for years, they would beg for them..not so much anymore. I hate to leave this review, but you need to know or the makers need to know. So I did a test today, I bought a different kind of dog treat and put the two in front of the dogs. The milk bone treat was even bigger but they went for the new ones that’s a bit smaller. Now something that’s disappointing in milk bone treat compared to the one I bought, the 2nd ingredient in milk bone is sugar, the new ones don’t have any sugar, not even a form of sugar. If you take the sugar out of them and make them more healthy, I think you will have a hit on your hands. Then advertise no sugar! Anyway, today and till maybe the old formula without sugar can be in milk bone I’m not going to purchase them. Sorry, just speaking the truth..p.s. after all these years I didn’t even notice there was sugar in them till the other day. Please take sugar out of the dog treats. With the calorie and sugar content, it’s like giving our dogs a snickers bar every treat. NO please! Thank you to the makers of Milkbone!
