    2026 Reformulation Warning - Do Not Buy - Try Chobani Complete Instead

    Danone quietly reformulated Oikos Pro, ruining what made it the best high-protein yogurt on the shelf. The original had a thick, dense, custard-like texture. The new version adds water as the second ingredient and backfills the protein with cheap, dry whey concentrate. The result is awful. It now has watery liquid separation on top, a gritty and chalky mouthfeel, and a sharp, sour, acidic bite instead of a clean vanilla finish. You can easily spot the new degraded batch before buying: they replaced the sturdy aluminum foil lid with a flimsy, thin plastic film. This is pure corporate cost-cutting at the expense of product quality. If you want the thick, smooth 20-gram protein texture this used to have, switch to Chobani Complete Vanilla instead. Return any unopened tubs of this new batch to customer service for a refund.

    Something has changed. I wonder if they have labeled the triple zero as pro. The texture of the pro is now that of the triple zero. The taste is also different. Every now and then I get one that has the correct texture and flavor. But for the most part it is not what I expect.

    Lost a "once-loyal" customer over new formula.

    It used to be great in the original cup with the foil lid. The new formula (idc what oikos says, SOMETHING HAS CHANGED) is more watery and gritty, and also tastes slightly different to me. After consuming 2-3 oikos pro cups/day for over 3 yrs, I have officially switched to Chobani pro.

    Lingering Aftertaste - not good

    What a disappointment - I was looking forward to trying the Strawberry Oikos Pro 20g protein yogurt, but the aftertaste from the Stevia or whatever artificial sweetener used was so bad that I had to eat something else immediately afterwards, just to get the lingering Oikos aftertaste out of my mouth. Why not just use a moderate amount of natural fruit juice as the sweetener so it doesn't taste like a chemical concoction made in a corporate laboratory? I would expect Oikos to be better than this!

    I eat these every day. The quality has dropped significantly; more than half the time, they have a gritty texture. Getting a pack that has a normal smooth texture is becoming more and more rare. I'm going for alternatives now. It’s a shame.

    Bad New Formul

    I am definitely not the only noticing the new formula is not good. It is grainy and watery, with a very odd after taste. It used to be creamy and the best yogurt out there, now it is worse than any other regular yogurt I have had. Hopefully they bring the previous formula back

    Thank you so much for returning to the previous foil top packaging vs the plastic tops. I am not sure if it was the packaging or a change in manufacturing that made such a difference in taste, but the product available now tastes great. It is smooth and creamy- no longer runny and gritty. I eat it every day.

    I have bought the oikos pro 4 pack for two years. This new formula has made stop buying oikos. Despite the company repeatedly saying it’s the same formula , it’s not. It’s runny and gritty . Literally the opposite of why I used to love this yogurt. Definitely not worth the price with that kind of flavor and consistency.

    not the same anymore, the packaging was different but the main thing is the quality. i guess the macros are still the same but it’s watery and chalky/gritty for the same price. i thought i was tripping but i’m not the only one noticing the change in ingredients quality. also the response for the other reviews have been the basically the same thing. I could understand iffff the price matched the quality; before it was perfect but now it’s only good thing is the macros which can found elsewhere at a grocery store.

    I’ve been buying Oikos Pro for a long time, and something has definitely changed. I understand Oikos says there has been no formula change, but the product I’m buying now is noticeably different. The Strawberry used to have the same thick, creamy consistency as the Mixed Berry. The newer Strawberry cups with the plastic-style lid are much thinner and more watery, while the Mixed Berry cups I’ve had with the foil lids still have the thick consistency I expect from Oikos Pro. Whatever changed — formula, ingredient proportions, production process, or something else — the end product is not the same. I specifically bought Oikos Pro because of the thick texture and high protein, and the new Strawberry texture is a significant downgrade. If the formula truly hasn’t changed, I’d like Oikos to explain why the consistency changed so noticeably at the same time the packaging changed. Please bring back the thicker, creamier texture.

    I typically eat 2 per day. I love the key lime, but it’s difficult to find, so typically go with vanilla, or peach. All was 5 stars until about a month ago. The formulation absolutely changed with the new packaging. It’s now watery and chalky. Please go back to the old creamier formulation.
