    Teeny weeny taco shells

    Shells taste good but they’re to small and thin you can’t fit all the ingredients in the shells. When try to open them they break. Make the shells bigger and thicker like they used to be. No more shrinkflation and corporate greed, do better.

    Stale lately

    The "new and improved taste" tastes like they're stale. That last 6 or 7 boxes we've bought have been stale and we had to throw them away even though they weren't supposed to expire for months. Very disappointing, these have always been our go to taco shells.

    Quality is going down hill.

    We've used these shells for many years and have always enjoyed them. Unfortunately, we had several broken ones the last time and stale ones this time. The expiration date wasn't until January, but hard shells shouldn't be chewy and difficult to break down.

    It’s broke because you “fixed” it

    They say new and improved taste but they are horrible now! They broke taking them out of the package, burned in the oven, and fell apart when they have nest in them. Go back to the old recipe.

    Improved “Taste” Ruins Crips Texture

    The new hard shells do not crisp up like they use to. After baking, the shells still did not crisp up and instead have a stale like texture (slightly hard but softish) and baking longer does not help. I’ve loved this brand since I was a child and I am sad and disappointed in this “improved” taste that has changed the texture. I sincerely hope El Paso goes back to the old recipe.

    Poor quality

    I've used these shells for years. This box of shells was tough and chewy despite following package directions. 3 of the shells were too misshapen to be usable. The date on package shows jan of 2026 so not old.

    Stale tasting

    Very disappointed in the new shells. They won't crisp up and just taste chewy or stale. I have never purchased anything but Old El Paso shells in the last 12 years but just had to buy a box of Taco Bell shells because the new ones are so bad. :(
