  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 Digital Camera - Black. The OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 has a very convenient feature: you can charge the battery inside the camera. This is the primary method of charging. Here's how it works: Use a USB-C cable: The TG-7 has a USB-C port. You will need a USB-C to USB-A cable (which is often included with the camera) or a USB-C to USB-C cable. Connect to a power source: You can connect the camera to one of the following: A USB-AC adapter (like the one you use for a smartphone). This is the fastest and most common way to charge. A USB-AC adapter (F-5AC) is sold separately. A computer's USB port. The charging time will vary and is often much slower than using a wall adapter, as it depends on the computer's power output. A portable power bank with a USB port. This is great for charging on the go. Initiate Charging: When you plug the camera in, a menu will appear on the screen. Select the "Charge" option, and an indicator light (often red) will illuminate on the camera to show that charging has begun. The light will turn off when the battery is full. Other Charging Options External Battery Charger: You can also purchase a dedicated external battery charger, such as the OM SYSTEM UC-92. This allows you to charge a spare battery outside of the camera, so you can continue using the camera with a charged battery while the other one is replenishing. Great all weather muti purpose camera

Very durable and versitle camera for my uses. I am in construction and an avid hikeroutdoors enthusiast. I have used this camera now for a couple years and can't wait for the new version to come out this fall hopefully. For construcion it does whats needed for documentaion and is reliable in all conditions. The screen could use a little move brightness in sunlight but that's minor compared to the features that are packed into this camera. The macro functions lets me document the details well.

Best traveling outdoor camera.

I purchased the TG-7 for my grandson RJ for his trip to Europe next month. He loves it! He is practicing taking photos with it now and is very excited at what the camera can do. Macro, Zoom, and all the other settings he can use. I also had the TG-6 on my travels and I loved it.

Incredibly Unreliable and Terrible Customer Suppor

I purchased an OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 because of its reputation as a rugged, dependable camera. Unfortunately, my ownership experience has been the complete opposite. The camera has required repairs far more often than I ever expected for a product marketed as durable. What has been even more disappointing than the repeated equipment failures has been the customer service experience. Over the course of dealing with OM SYSTEM customer support and the Canadian service centre, communication has been slow, inconsistent, and frustrating. Getting updates on repairs has often required repeated follow-ups, and responses have not inspired confidence that customer concerns are being taken seriously. Instead of feeling supported, I have felt like I had to chase information every step of the way. When you invest in a premium camera, you expect not only reliable equipment but also responsive after-sales support when something goes wrong. In my experience, neither expectation has been met. Multiple repairs, extended downtime, and poor communication have made ownership far more stressful than enjoyable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the TG-7 or OM SYSTEM's Canadian customer support and service network. I hope the company improves both its product reliability and the way it communicates with customers during the repair process. ---- Comments from OM SYSTEM: We are sorry to hear about your experiences with both the TG-7 and the support center. Great on paper, failed in the field

Very impressed with everything this camera did when learning to use it with the downloaded manual. Recommended by National Geographic, I ordered this camera specifically to use while snorkeling (no deep diving) on a trip to the Galapagos. The camera seemed to work well on the first 45 minute snorkel outing, but the onoff button seemed to "freeze" afterwards. I was unable to turn the camera on after the first outing - no other expedition photographer could fix or explain the problem - unable to take any underwater pictures after day one. Unable to reach a real person via a phone call. Requested a call back on a website form - still waiting. Returned the camera for "repair," following website instructions - hope it works. GREAT CAMERA ON PAPER, FAILED IN THE WATER, CANNOT EVALUATE "CUSTOMER SERVICE" SINCE THERE WAS NONE. HOPE I GET A WORKING CAMERA BACK!!

Great pictures, rugged, waterproof and easy to use

This is a great camera that's easy to keep with you while you're on the go. Rugged and waterproof so you don't need to worry about every little bump and rain shower--you'll still get great pictures. Many shooting modes give you a lot of flexibility but you can still run a full auto mode to keep things as easy as pie. No need for selfies...hand the TG-7 to others to take your picture...they'll have no problem...just be sure to get it back ;-) The only issue I have, and the reason for a score of 4 instead of 5, is that the TG-7 lacks a way to control shutter speed as a mode. I enjoy taking long exposure shots but the settings for the TG-7 limit your ability to control the shutter. In some instances you can get down to nearly 4 seconds but it's almost impossible to do if you try using ND filters. I hope this is simply a software upgrade they can do to make one of the user modes ( C1 or C2 ) perhaps...to offer us control of shutter speed. If you're looking for a rugged, waterproof, carry-anywhere camera that provides great results without worry...this is one you can't beat. It also has quite a few accessories available for it too...check it out!
