Although I don't like the plastic wrapper, the cheese is great. If you like a bit of spicy (one jalapeno out of five), then I would choose this brand to use. Also, block cheese is better than shredded because they don’t contain stabilizers (like starches) so it melts quickly and browns nicely.

I'm not sure if Target is getting their store brand block cheese from a different company, or has changed the specifications the block cheese -- But the last two blocks we have bought of the pepperjack have been pretty bad. Almost no flavor, and a different texture than normal cheese. The texture was a little on the more waxy than you'd expect. My spouse put some in my breakfast burrito, and I didn't even notice it had cheese until my spouse told me that it had cheese in it!

This is a very mildly spiced Jalapeno Jack Cheese, which is what I prefer. My family member who loves hot spicy food didn't feel any heat with this cheese. It melted very well. I used it for the cheese topping on home made pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches. We loved it.
