Directions
When first opening the tube, puncture foil seal with top end of cap. Apply to the affected area up to 4 times daily, especially at night, in the morning or after each bowel movement. Intrarectal Use: Remove cover from applicator, attach applicator to tube, lubricate applicator well and gently insert applicator into the rectum. Thoroughly cleanse applicator after each use and replace cover. Also apply ointment to external area. Regular use provides continual therapy for relief of symptoms.

For Internal Use:
1. Wash your hands before and after. Try to empty your bowel and bladder just before use. 2. Remove protective cover from applicator. Attach applicator to tube. 3. Squeeze to fill the applicator with ointment. 4. Lubricate applicator well and then gently insert applicator into the rectum ½ inch. 5. Squeeze the tube so that ointment is applied inside rectum. 6. Thoroughly cleanse applicator after each use and replace protective cover. 7. Avoid having a bowel movement for one to three hours after inserting the ointment.
To Clean the Applicator:
Wash it with warm water and gentle soap then thoroughly rinse it with water.

The hemorrhoidal ointment cream helped me a lot to relieve irritation and discomfort quickly; its texture is soft and easy to apply. What would improve would be the smell, because it can feel a little strong when using it.

Works in minutes no more burning
Ever since I gave birth to my first child I got hemorrhoids they are painful they extend most of the time I use the restroom I can't even sit or be comfortable. This ointment works good has a good applicator it's a thick texture to have a better result. It don't burn or hurt when applying it. The bottle is easy to apply good packaging and worth the value of the money it does work.

Worth buying

First time used -immediate relief
I first heard of this product when had a horrendous two hours in hospital getting things shoved back to where they should be. Two days later after using the loo I had severe burning pain and used Preparation H for the first time. The relief was immediate. The instructions on the box and tube are inadequate. The website is much better. I did not realize that the yellow tube was a cover and not the applicator

I tried it does not work as those who indicate it did that received free product. I will try in a few more times and if it works will review it again. I also have been advised to use ancourt 25 am a bit hesitant because I am diabetic and it might raise my blood sugar. At present I can not recommend this product. However will give it another try and repot results as well

not sure how effective it is
After using this product, I’m not entirely sure what it does. It didn’t reduce the size of the hemorrhoid, but it at least didn’t get any bigger. Thankfully I didn’t have any pain or discomfort from mine and maybe that was because I began using this as soon as I realized it was there. It was extremely greasy, but that doesn’t really bother me. It’s honestly the only product I’ve had to use for this ailment so don’t have a lot to compare it to.

Better than the cream
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this pain in the rear for several years. I purchased the cream, thinking it would help. It did, temporarily, but it ended up wearing off too fast and just making a mess. So I switched to the ointment, and I'm glad I did. It's a little oily, and hence makes handwashing a bit more of a chore after application, but it seems to last longer and doesn't end up in my underpants like the cream did. As I sit in an office 8 hours a day, I don't foresee this issue ever completely subsiding, so in the future I'll go for the ointment when things flare up again.
