Schleich Ice Giant

Anchor broke off about an hour after opened. He loves the toy though, but sad broken

I’m almost ashamed by how many ELDRADOR Creatures we have, but they are all amazing. Such wonderful quality, great details, last forever. Will likely buy more! (Sigh)

I have purchased many figures and every Schleich figure I have purchased has been outstanding in craftsmanship and quality. It is an outstanding company that lives up to it's great reputation!

I like how you can stick the sword in its mouth, open its jaws, twist its upper body, and move its arms. I'm also a big fan of the name!

I just bought this figure yesterday. The attached tool (weapon) broke within minutes of playing. We live far from the toy shop to return it—20 pounds for a broken toy. I saw other 2 broken, same model, on the shelf but thought it could be from accidents. My son has never broken a toy before. My conclusion: this toy is not for playing, maybe display?

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Within minutes of unbozing my five year old child broke the anchor. Upon inspection I am very disappointed in how the anchor was constructing. It would require a significant amount of glue to repair and it will never hold. Unfortunately a replacement part cannot be utilized because at its base this area is so poorly constructed.

My boys are older so it’s not playing roughly that’s the issue. We have two of these one for each boy and the axe has broken off both. I notice others have mentioned it and been offered a spare part showing Schleich haven’t even looked at the design fault because it’s molded in and not something you can replace.

Too expensive otherwise great! Need free delivery too!

My kids love to play with this dude. He guards treasure, fights dinosaurs, and is durable as heck. I don't recommend for toddlers as the sword is quite pointy, so I safe guard that when my 2 year old wants a turn. The sword is also pretty difficult to get back into the hand but I think it's just a learning curve on the right way to get it back. We love our pretend play with him!

As with many other reviews, my son had this for less than a day before the pick axe broke. Very diappointing.

My son loves the Eldrador line of monsters and creatures and plays with them nearly everyday. He chose "ice guy" to give his friend as a birthday gift. His friend loved it.

My six year old grandson loves these toys! He has many many toys from Schleich and he has a new little sister and I have already started a collection of Schleich for her!

Like many others have experienced my son came to me shortly after playing for the first time with the Ice Giant upset that the anchor has snapped off. Naturally I blamed my child which made him even more upset. In my guilt I set about to find a way to fix his toy. I tried all types of glue but the cross sectional area at that point is just too small to form a strong joint with glue alone. This was the solution (not everyone will have the tools to do this but I hope it helps somebody at least): - Drill small hole (I used 4mm, easiest done with a power drill but be careful not to hurt yourself) in the anchor and the arm of the giant down the axis to which they were previously connected. - Find an appropriately sized screw (best screws are ones with threads all the way to the screw head) and screw half way one end into the hole you drilled in the giants arm - Cut off the head of the screw - Screw on the anchor onto the protruding end of the screw - Combine with glue for extra security This has been very effective for us and the Ice Giant has been greatly abused all around the house by both kids and dogs and is still surviving to this day.

My five year old son’s heart got broken twice by this toy. He and I both love its appearance, but when he first got it for Xmas, the anchor broke off in less than 24 hours. I eventually returned it to the store for a new one, but the anchor broke off on that one as well and then we just gave up. He still pines for this toy, but I really don’t care to go through the same negative experience a third time. I urge Schleich to consider retooling or even resculpting the arm on this Ice Giant so that it is more durable.

We love the eldrador line, but this guy is one of the coolest. His sword in his back is a great detail. He’s heavy- has great quality. He can go in the bath, outside, or set on the shelf looking cool. 8yo loves it.

My son loves the Eldrador series, and we own multiple “monsters”. While my son loves the ice giant, I was really disappointed that the anchor arm snapped off when it was dropped from my son’s hands to hardwood floor within 24hrs of receiving for his birthday. The others we own have been very durable.
