Egg wouldn't open
Unfortunately the shark wouldn’t hatch out of the egg, which is the main appeal of this toy.

A jawsome good time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two younger children couldnt wait to activate this Primal Hatch Megalodon Egg Shark Toy. The instructions are colourful images so that kids can do it with almost no help from adults. The only thing you need to activate it is water (and we used a tray in case of spills). They loved the bubbling and the sounds it madeat first. Then the sounds started to concern my 5 year old and our cat . He and the cat decided to watch from a far while the egg was shaking and about to hatch. My 9 year old loved it and thought the shark was great because it is interactive and you can play games with it. He was already refilling the container to have the shark hatch again - which you can do over and over. My 5 year old loved the process at first but was scared by the sounds and he didnt want a jump scare which is completely understandable for his age. So I would say 6+ depending on your child. The whole process only took a minute or two but it is a very fun toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy was fun, but the egg didnt hatch properly. So it made all its noise and flashing lights and foaming water, and then nothing.I cracked it out of its egg and my son did think it was really cool to play with but had some trouble activating the different game modes, and we havent been able to get it to collapse back up so that it can do jump scare mode or go back into its egg.

Hatch a shark, over and over again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Spinmaster Hatching Megalodon Shark was so easy to use and a fun surprise to learn you could dry the parts out and hatch your shark over and over again! Its easy for your kids to help unlock and pour in the water and the shark can be fully removed to play with outside of the hatching egg as well! We cant wait to see what other hatching products come out next.

Fun Surprise for Shark Fans

So Much Fun Watching It Hatch!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hatching was definitely the best part! It was so funny seeing my kids' personalities come out. My older son was counting down the whole time and couldn't wait for it to hatch, while my younger son kept hiding behind my back every time the egg started moving and making noises. We were all laughing! Such a fun, interactive toy that made the whole experience really memorable.

A big hit for a Shark Lover
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is OBSESSED with sharks. He knows every fact, every kind, he talks about sharks every single day. So when he saw that he could hatch his own Megalodon shark he was BEYOND excited. It honestly was super easy to set up. Minimal effort on the parent part but really cool for the kids. It started to bubble and the potion brewed. The noises, the hatching it was a big hit with the kids.

Experience is cool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our three children (aged 11, 9 and 7) were all interested in the opening of the Primal Hatch Megalodon Hatching Egg Shark Toy. We found the packaging to be eye catching, instructions easy to follow, and the hatching experience to be very neat, specifically the music and sound effects. As a parent, I liked that there wasnt an overflowing mess of water and the container contained all of it. Upon hatching the Shark, the kids were already asking if it could be done again. My eldest wishes it could be a bath toy, as he isnt sure where he would play with it. My 7 year old immediately wanted to play the games. We would recommend this product but would be more likely to purchase it as a gift, if it was on sale. Realistically I dont think my kids would enjoy hatching it again, so the main fun is a one time use.

We always appreciate the opportunity to try out new products and share our honest experience. The egg hatching process was definitely the highlight for my kidsthey were excited to see what was inside, and it made for a fun reveal. Once the toy had hatched, though, the excitement didn't last as long as we had hoped. In my opinion, this toy is best suited for children 5 years and older. Younger kids may need extra help, and I don't think they'll get the most out of the experience. Overall, I think it's a fun one-time activity. After the hatching is complete, it mainly becomes a regular water toy for playtime. Thank you again, Spin Master, for the opportunity to review this product. As always, these are my honest thoughts based on our family's experience.

Hatching egg shark on repeat

Shark attack!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Butterly sent us a @spinmaster Primal Hatch Megalodon Shark to test out. The boys were beyond pumped for this one, being shark/dinosaur nuts! Once we poured the water over and it activated it was awesome! The red foam, flashing lights and ominous music were cool and then the surprise explosion from the egg was one of the coolest things we have seen a toy do in a long time. The shark ends up being twice the size of the egg when it hatches and it has 4 different modes like a game where you have to move your hands away from it's mouth before it bites, a cinematic mode where it chomps, makes sounds and plays music, a kind of "pop goes the weasel" mode where you press it closed and have to guess when it will expand, and the last mode makes its sounds become robotic. Definitely a great toy for the shark fans out there. You can also put it back in the egg to hatch over and over, just without the foam. Would definitely recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We absolutely loved this experience of hatching the Primal Hatch Megalodon Shark! The anticipation of watching it hatch was incredible. My daughter was a little nervous with the sounds of the unknown but overall really enjoyed watching and couldnt wait to take it out and play with it. My favourite part is that this is a toy that can be used over and over with the whole set up being included. Its not a one and done hatch experience and so we have actually used it a few more times since. We would definitely recommend this toy and already have. We would buy again and we would absolutely recommend toys from spin master! This toys rating for 5+ is accurate. This toy is the perfect gift for a shark loving child and we were definitely happy with it.

The packaging is creative looking and creates so much excitement in the kids to see how it works! It is really cool toy that builds anticipation before it hatches with music and sounds. Once hatched the toy can be reused over and over again which is nice. The shark is quite large and can be played with separately and has different sound and function features. This is a cool gift for the kids that already have everything and is something different!

From scared to obsessed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we first got the toy, my daughter was terrified. She doesnt like sharks. She didnt want to play with it, but the second the shark started to hatch. It was a game changer. She fell in love and just started playing with the toy and creating that new adventures. As soon as the egg started to hatch, thats when the excitement started to build what was great also was how when you added water it wasnt just hatching in plain old water. There was red foam inside the container which made it even more exciting and more interesting. The shark isnt a small toy at all. Its big enough to create these great adventures that your kids will be running around the house with and will never put it down.

Wow this one is COOL!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Primal Hatch Megalodon Hatching Egg Shark from Spin Master in exchange for our honest review. This toy was pretty cool. It was like an experiment where you hatch your own shark. The whole packaging was pretty amazing actually. The instructions were really simple to understand. The kids loved watching after putting in the water. What I also thought was cool was the music that played while we watched the water fizz up. Which. also was red like blood! The kids laughed so much once the shark hatched because they got scared when it popped up. We all had a really good laugh at that. Once we removed the shark the kids loved playing with it. The sounds and red eyes are a nice touch too. This toy was a hit in our house for sure. The tank is also reusable which is nice. Hours of play will be had with this toy! Spin Master has the best toys!!

Resettable hatching egg toy

Although he did break the seal on the egg and it hatched before I added the water which made it a bit anticlimactic but we rehatched it enjoy again. I like that you can reset it and that it's a fairly good size. Would be a great birthday present

Omg Coolest Toy Ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Omg this is seriously the coolest toy ever! My whole family stood around it as it hatched. We loved the red foam, the sounds it made and the lit up eyes. The suspense of waiting for it to hatch was so fun and the way that it pounced when it hatched was super exciting and fun. My kids enjoyed playing with the megalodon for a while after it hatched. This toy was amazing! We loved it.
