The blade comes very sharp but only time will tell how well the edge holds up before it has to be sharpened. They’ve been cutting through our steak like butter but the only downfall is they don’t have a serrated area like some steak knives have. We really like the wooden box that the knives come in because it keeps them neat and safe so they aren’t loose where someone might accidentally cut themselves. Overall these are very nice knives.
