Sennheiser HD 550 Headphones

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These headphones sound great. They seem to be made okay. Theres no wireless so no need to worry about connections failing or cutting in and out. Since they are an open design you can easily hear everything in the room while while still getting your music or audiobook in. They are very comfortable your ears do not get too hot and these can be left on for hours with out discomfort. For the sound profile. It's just flat. At times overly bright but the bass is not very noticeable. While playing at a normal level unfortunately the sound does travel outside the headset pretty easily in a quiet room and can easily be heard if you turn it up to jam out a bit. The jack for the wiring on the headset side is very tight which is good and it also comes with an adapter for 1/4" from 3.5mm and the length is okay around around 6 ft. The build quality is good for the price point I think. Aluminum covers on the ears and the whole headset seems pretty flexible but fixed when on your head.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is no battery life as it is chorded. It is durable and comfortable. It has great sound quality and comes with an adapter for electric guitars. I used it with my guitar and it worked flawlessly. I would recommend this product.

They use a 3.5mm connector and come with one that fits larger inputs. The only thing I would suggest is to make a model with a mic, but these are excellent for music and audio. They are comfortable to wear and seem durable.

I plug these in when I’m gaming and listening to DMB and the sound quality is like I’m sitting front row listening to the band.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sennheiser HD 550 are excellent over the ear headphones for the true audiophile, whether it's listening to music or just streaming content online at home. The price point is competitive to other similar makes but much lower than higher end models while offering very premium sound. On gaming which is what I use them primarily for, you’re able to hear foot steps approaching or even glass breaking at a distance. Some of these noticeable sounds are sounds that I've never noticed before using other brands. The bass is well balanced for whatever content you’re consuming but not overpowering at all. Midrange is very decent giving good clarity to tones in voices and environment noises in a game. Treble is also well balanced in my opinion and not too high where I would find overwhelming. On classic rock music, it’s easy to distinguish between the different instruments or even the different toms hit on a drum set. Music overall sounds so satisfying with these on. Sennheiser really nailed it with the HD 550, and they just keep getting better at what they do every year. I've tried all types of other popular brands, but in the end, I just can't put anything on top of Sennheiser. Extremely well made in every possible way. The quality is obviously top notch and well constructed. The look is amazing, and the material of the earpads feel very comfortable on the ears. I could literally wear these all day without feeling pressure on my head or my ears sweating. Without a doubt, Sennheiser is the absolute best in the headphone business. I highly recommend these headphones if you’re looking for a very decent set at an acceptable price point. I would say these headphones are a great “bang for buck”.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first pair of Sennheiser headphones I've owned after hearing numerous audio people discuss them. I was not let down on the audio expectations. The sound was a huge difference from any prior headphones I've tried and made me realize just how bad some others sounded. The overall comfort I am mixed on. The ear pads are super soft and fit co.fortably.on my smaller ears. I will say they are a little awkward with glasses on if you have to adjust your glasses and it does push them in a bit. The weight is a little more than I expected and will slide down over time but I am comfortable enough wearing them all day at work.

Price is def higher than your average headphones, but honestly worth it. The sound is super clear, comfy for long wear, and I can actually hear small details in songs I didn’t notice before. Feels like they’ll last for years just like the others we’ve owned. If you’re into good sound, these are worth looking at.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great open back headphones. The sound quality is great in the mids. They are not super bass heavy which is what I like. Very comfortable. You do need an aux to hook up though which can be frustrating with how so many phones don't have them anymore. I would recommend.

But doing a little research on it, these are some very high-quality products. They are very comfortable. I've worn them for a few hours and did not get ear fatigue at all. The only thing is that these are wired. Though I prefer BT, these are still quality that I would continue to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These aren’t exactly what I was expecting. They’re not bad. They’re pretty good actually. The sound is decent. They’re comfortable to wear but they have two major drawbacks. First they’re wired all my headphones/earbuds are wireless. Secondly when I plugged them in the sound was down so at first I was confused because I couldn’t find a volume switch anywhere. Until I clicked the home button on my controller and manually adjusted the volume that way. I can’t say they’re bad but they’re not better than the wireless Xbox headset I currently use.

With that being said, once they are on for the 1st time, things feel thin, and weak, pretty much as a new born baby - But after a couple hours, these headphones turn into a lush mature sound that screams Holy Grail sound! I won't say the headband has my favorite cushioning nor the construction is the toughest, but it should be okay. Maybe some will definitely hate the headband, but it's the compromise I made for the sound provided. Now to the sound portion,. I don't perceive sound as separate entities, but more of a complete comprehensive approach. The whole notion of bass, mids and highs is just fragmented and doesn't really say much. But to those who want those details. Lower range or bass is just right, less would be thin, more would be boomy. I want to clarify that Sub bass or the very lowest frequencies are hard to achieve with open backs, so no subwoofer feeling yet! Mids, are just glorious! More open would make them honky, more closed would make them muffled. Very delicate balance achieved. Highs, it's clean and defined, but maybe very subtle peaks here and there depending on source material. Could it be more precise?, possibly, but that would be a next gen iteration or even a different driver overall. All in all, out of tens of headphones auditions, this one is the only one that can come close to my definition of natural

Excellent sound quality, and it comes with two different audio jacks for desktop or gaming. Cushions around the ears feel super durable while also fitting comfortably over the ears. Direct connection to desktop and gaming devices means battery life is not an issue with these headphones. Looking forward to using these for a very long time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These headphones are probably the most comfortable headphones I’ve worn yet, they are very soft and adjust just perfectly to fit. I wish I could give it 5 stars and I would if it was Bluetooth capable. You cannot use these without the cord - so pretty much the only thing you can use them for is gaming since phones do not have that cord input anymore. The sound is amazing; very clear and precise and would love to be able to use them to listen to music while doing yard work. There is no battery, like I said, they have a cord attached.

Functionality wise, the midrange is the true star here. Possibly the best mids in a Sennheiser headphone at this price point—clear, warm, natural, and deeply engaging. An all rounder and refined product with the kind of tuning that just sounds right. The Sennheiser HD 550 may look plain, but don’t be fooled—this is a beautifully tuned, feather-light open-back headphone that delivers far above expectations. Comfort is superb thanks to its soft pads and barely-there weight, making it ideal for long sessions. They dont make the ears sweat too much, as there is good ventilation here and the clamping force is not too tight - ensuring the wearer does not get headaches. Sonically, it’s a standout as bass is surprisingly full and punchy, with just a slight roll-off in the sub-bass. The midrange is clear, natural, and emotionally engaging, possibly even better tuned than the beloved HD series by sennheiser. Highs are smooth, detailed, and never harsh. Perfect for treble-sensitive ears. The soundstage feels wider than other offerings in the HD series with excellent separation, making it a true all-rounder. For anyone after an open-back headphone that’s comfortable, well-balanced, and genuinely musical, the HD 550 is an easy recommendation. A quiet stunner from Sennheiser. Since these are wired headphones, they are well paired with laptops or music systems or gaming in general. Since the 3.5mm jack has been eradicated almost entirely - they wont do justice to phone users but hey if you have one, you're in for a treat!

The sound is realistic and produces very real sounds, vivid sound. It is very comfortable to wear, even though I played for 2 hours continuously, my ears did not hurt. It is very easy to connect.
